"I Had a driveway, a year and a half ago installed. It is still solid and in great shape. Tony and his daughter came out recently and steel coated it. Tony and his daughter came out the other day and straightened out some edges for free. Amazing family company and stands by their work. I Highly recommend this company for your next paving project. If considering a paving company. Blacktop has over 50 years in the business."

"StoneCraft was hired to reface the front steps of my home which had degraded due to poor initial construction and years of abuse with rock salt by the previous owner. As removal of the stone facia occurred, Chris's team quickly realized that the interior structure of the stair case had also severely degraded also. Chris immediately communicated the findings and StoneCraft's plan to ensure 100% satisfaction with the integrity and appearance of their work. There would be an upcharge to the unforeseen work, but this was to be expected considering the extra hours of labor and materials. From the time of initial quote, StoneCraft followed through on their word and commitment to quality of work, not to mention that the work was started and completed ahead of schedule. This team does not cut corners and has a well thought out vision for the completed product they are providing. Well Done !"

"The estimate was promptly received and explained. The background of the Heh construction was provided with the experience of the crew and the valuable and professional service they can provide. The installation occurred in a timely manner and was completed in a day. The crew did a great job of prep and cleanup. The roof looks great and just as we'd hoped. I'd have no problem using them again and my neighbor already has."

"Justin and Deb at Flood Landworks were wonderful to work with. Justin promptly provided an estimate with a diagram specifying the plant and layout. Deb also came to see the layout before we went to their nursery to view the plant choices. Deb and I then made changes based on our preferences. They are very flexible. Changes were also made on the day of planting after plants were positioned. Deb sent down additional plants as needed. The work took two complete days during which old large shrubs were removed, beds shaped and cut out, placed 2 feet of stone along the perimeter, top soil and peat moss added, and finished with natural brown mulch. The 3 men working were professional gentlemen who aimed to please. They went above and beyond to spread the leftover stone, soil and mulch wherever I wanted it. We are extremely happy with the result. We had 5 estimates ranging from $2800. (Flood’s) to $6000 and have not regretted our choice."

"<p>BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS!!!!</p> <p>For some reason, I thought I had made a detailed report of my experience with Mountain Road Landscaping but I don't see it entered here.  So here it is now.</p> <p>Justin and his crew are models of professionalism!  They all were punctual, responsive, hard working and thorough.  They completely reworked the landscaping for my entire property.  I am beyond satisfied with the extensive work that was done, including the price.  My aim was to improve the look of the property while cutting down on the maintenance.  Justin and his crew knocked it out of the park!!!</p> <p>In the front yard, the old, rotting timbers were removed and the hill was smoothed out to make it easier to mow.  The front yard also received a meandering planter bed to add some visual interest.  The side yard got weed fabric and river stone to cut down on maintenance and previous erosion issues.  The back yard was totally transformed.  The old, cracked concrete patio was removed and a new paver patio was installed.  Landscape fabric and river stone was installed around the pool.  Although it was a bear of a job due to poor, soft soil, Justin and his crew dug down to firm bedrock to install the retaining wall needed to support the parking pad above.  With the extra soil, the back yard was leveled.  All the worn areas of grass were re-seeded and fertilized.  This was all done in less than 2 weeks!  Simply remarkable!!</p> <p>Although I've had my fair share of problems with contractors in the past, the experience with Mountain Road Landscaping was better than I could have imagined.  Not only would I hire Mountain Road Landscape for future work but I've also recommended them to my friends.</p>"

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Mount Pocono, PA

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
