"When I smelled fumes in the basement of my 1929 home , I thought I needed a flue liner based upon feedback from my boiler service technicians when they determined that my hot water heating boiler was not drafting. i called Mark to give me an estimate on a flue liner. While Mark told me that he usually works on older homes predating 1900, he told me he'd come out to have a look anyway. Mark came to my home and evaluated the situation, which included looking at the configuration of my heating hot water, steam, and domestic hot water boiler flues and looking for obvious blockages where the flues terminated into the chimney.  He determined that there was an improper flue arrangement, and that it would be better to get that fixed first (by a handyman or sheetmetal fabricator) and then check on how the boiler was drafting. He was honest and did not charge me for the time.
On a side note, he also told me that the chimney wire cap had fallen to the bottom if the chimney and that there was a dead bird there. When I asked, he told me what kind of chimney cap I needed and that I could do it myself or get a handyman to put it on.
I would recommend him based on his honesty, professionalism, and knowledgability.
