"As can happen, the project started out slow. Ryan was a little late the first day. But we discussed it, and he made up for it by getting right to work. He had a couple of guys with him, and they all worked very hard taking out the old deck, and getting ready to put the new one in it's place. During the project, we had a couple of hiccups (which I was quick to point out...lol). However, Ryan took care of them right away. And, as anyone who has ever done home repairs can tell you, sometimes unexpected things come up. Ryan went out of his way to take care of them as well. As for the new deck, I had a very detailed design that I wanted executed, and Ryan and his guys did a great job making my vision a reality. "We told him that we weren't ready to complete the deck  project at the time and that may be why he took so long to respond with a completed "plan". The plan was certainly less professional and accurate than what my husband and I could have done ourselves.  He included an estimate for our deck (about $8,500 for a two level deck - one just 7" above the other to accommodate the difference in height of the floors in our home.  The proposed deck would be about 10x15.) He offered to quote us separately for his landscaping suggestions.
I had hoped that he would give us a ball park estimate at least for different deck material as he knew we were on the fence about which type we would go with, but he didn't.
The service wasn't AWFUL, it was just mediocre. He might be a great guy for pavers, but I would recommend him for deck or landscaping work.
