"Let me say up front, Dawson Mechanical did an excellent job spec’ing, installing and testing the new steam boiler they put in my house. There were numerous issues with my old boiler and hot water loop, Dawson Mechanical fixed them all. Period. Everything works right. The system is quiet. The loop heats properly now, and my Nest thermostat is properly powered. The existing steam system in my house had numerous problems. I spent the better part of a year trying to find a steam boiler expert that I could trust to do the job properly. I had done research on my own to understand what the issues probably were, but I wanted someone that could identify all of the issues so that when the job was done, everything would work perfectly. When Dave at Dawson Mechanical came to my house, it quickly became clear that he knew exactly what was going on. He was knowledgeable and organized. He looked at all parts of the steam system before we talked about what needed to be done. Where other guys made suggestions that were incomplete or showed lack of understanding, Dave presented a few alternatives, and clearly articulated the pros and cons of each choice. "It was a superb experience. From the visit by Bruce the sales representative to the installation day to the follow-up from Petro, every single person we interacted with was helpful and professional. When Bruce arrived to do the assessment, we spent time going over the heating needs in the house. After a thorough inspection and measurement of the house, we sat down. He showed me a few options, all of which were going to provide good service. I ordered a unit at the end of that meeting. The installation day was just terrific- the entire work crew that showed up were everything I would hope to find: Upbeat, informative, hard-working, focused. The job was finished before end of day as promised. The heater room is now immaculate, with new piping and a new heater. It was like watching a pit crew at a NASCAR race. Everyone had their tasks, they moved carefully but quickly. The materials were all laid out in order, etc. Just a totally professional approach to their work. The crew boss answered any questions I had. The follow-up for a normal inspection of the furnace chimney was scheduled the day after the installation.
