"We had the foundation repaired around our house and the basement repaired due to our drainage problems. This was 17 years ago and we have had no problems since that time. Also, Everdry furnishes a sump pump to us free of charge and we always have an extra sump pump in case the electric power goes off. I would suggest to every new home owner who builds a new house to have Everdry do the waterproofing of the foundation and drainage outside the house. They are wonderful!"

"Everyone we dealt with was kind, friendly, and easy to work with. The inspector, Mark, was very good at explaining the process, and the technicians, Taron and DeShawn did a great job with the waterproofing and foundation repair."

"The service provided by Ayers was great! Blew the doors off Ark Foundation out of Fowlerville....who wasted my time and never followed through. Ayers salesperson was thorough and professional. The crew showed up on time and man did they ever work... Haven't had a drop of water in my basement since."

"B-Dry did an excellent job. Ed was so wonderful to work with. He was very responsive and professional. This is a second home for us so we couldn't be there while the work was getting done. He really cared about getting the job done correctly and went above and beyond by checking on the house before they could start and sending me lots of pictures. He notified us when he discovered additional problems (and solved several without charging extra). They started on time and finished on schedule. Having a wet basement is awful and stressful. Ed made it better. I highly recommend B-Dry."

"For the first time in years my basement is totally dry after a rainstorm!   What a relief!  After hearing horror stories about digging up foundations and incredibly expensive repairs, I finally got it done.  It turned out to be simple and at $500. affordable. The guy came and injected the crack with a (urethane?) foam.  It oozed out and sealed everything up.  The guy was neat and tidy and finished it up really well. If I painted it you'd never know there was a crack.  Thanks Guys!  I am super pleased!"

"In a word - excellent!  But you want all the details - so here it goes. <br /> I chose Nova based on the recommendation of a friend and also their excellent record here on Angie's list which is far better than any other companies in this area doing this work. <br /> For the initial appointment I was running late.  Very unusual for me and I was very embarrassed by it - but their rep (one of the owners, I believe) took it right in stride and graciously waited for me to arrive.  He made his inspection and made recommendations based on only what I wanted - to secure the integrity of the foundation.  I wasn't interested in trying to turn it into a living area and he didn't push unnecessary repairs.  In fact, he recommended I get new gutters and downspouts first.  I was impressed with this honesty as Nova doesn't do this work and did not gain anything from it.  He then explained both verbally and in writing exactly what was needed to secure the foundation and gave me a quote for the work.  I asked him for a recommendation for the gutters and got it. <br /> I followed through with the gutters first and was very pleased with the work of the company they recommended.  Then I called them to arrange a date for them to start their work.  They arranged for a plumber to move some of the water lines that would be in the way.  I hadn't remembered them mentioning this to me...but it was included in the estimate they gave me so it was fine. <br /> Throughout this process, the rep, work crew, gutter company, and plumber all had to arrange appointments with one of my tenants for access to the basement.  This tenant has often warned me about sub-par contractors in the past...but they were fine with all of the work done and absolutely LOVED the Nova crew.  Work started on the appointed date and finished when expected.  Due to my work schedule, I was never there during the work and never met the crew, but I am extremely satisfied with the work they did.  The foundation is now better than it was the day the house was built, my tenants remained happy throughout, and I found Nova to be extremely easy and friendly - yet professional to deal with in every phase from my initial call to arrange an inspection to my final call to pay the bill. <br />"

"I have some level of disappointment because Acculevel was unable to lift the patio back to its original position. That being said, I think the challenges they encountered would have been encountered by anyone else, and some of the other one-man mudjacking operations who wanted to use buckets or wheelbarrows to carry slurry back to my patio probably would have given up earlier. I chose Acculevel because they use foam instead of slurry (which should last much longer), they had a 300 foot hose solving problems with access to the backyard (I live on a steep slope with retaining walls), and I had more confidence selecting them compared to independent one-man operations who do mudjacking. Their price wasn't the highest bid I received but it wasn't the lowest. I thought it was fair given the foam is a higher quality product. The crew actually arrived an hour early, which actually wasn't ideal but not a big deal (a call would have been nice). They worked hard and I suspect they were there much longer than they had originally envisioned. They did a nice job sealing all cracks when they were done with a high-quality crack filler which most of the mudjacking guys told me they don't do. The good crack filler can be messy and difficult to work with so this was a nice little bonus. Although they couldn't get the patio back to where it was, they worked hard to do the best they could without risking damage to the retaining wall. At least with the foam they use, I have confidence it won't sink anymore."

"This waterproofing lives up to its name! They have a friendly and professional staff. They got the project in less time then originally said which was great. They explain every step and why it needs to be done. They clean up everything at the end of the job so you donâ??t have any extra work. Iâ??m so happy I can finally use my basement with out having to worry about water! AS Crown point, IN"

FAQs for foundation, basement or crawlspace waterproofing / encapsulation projects in New Buffalo, MI

The most affordable way to waterproof your basement is with interior methods like waterproof paint, costing between $1 and $8 per square foot, or silicate concrete sealers priced at $4 to $6 per square foot. However, these solutions are only suitable for certain issues. If your basement moisture is due to more serious problems like a cracked foundation, you'll need more extensive (and costly) repairs.

Absolutely! Waterproofing your basement is a smart investment that can increase your home's value. By keeping your basement dry and free of moisture problems, you protect your home's structural integrity and make it more appealing to potential buyers. Plus, taking proactive measures now can prevent costly water damage repairs down the line.

The time required to waterproof a basement depends on the selected method. Some approaches to interior waterproofing, like paint or sealant, can be completed within a day. Installing new drains or weeping tiles will need at least two to three days of labor. Any forms of exterior waterproofing that require you to excavate land will require an additional three days of work to prepare the ground.

Yes, basement waterproofing can significantly increase your home's value. A dry, leak-free basement is a strong selling point for potential buyers, enhancing your property's desirability and market price. Investing in professional waterproofing not only protects your home's structural integrity but also ensures a healthier living environment by preventing mold and mildew growth.

Waterproofing both the interior and exterior of your basement offers the best protection against moisture. Exterior waterproofing stops water from penetrating your foundation, while interior methods manage any moisture that does enter. If you must choose one, exterior waterproofing is generally more effective, as it prevents water from reaching your home's interior in the first place.
