"Ralph Bertrand from Home Genius Exteriors came out to thoroughly examine our roof. Ralph showed us many photos & a video of our roof, outside & inside. Ralph took the time to answer any questions we had. He explained the various products used & levels of warranty available. We really appreciated the time Ralph spent explaining everything to us, all without pressure to buy. The day of install arrived & the team was on time & ready to work! One thing we liked was that there was someone there from Home Genius Exteriors during the whole time of install. Richard Bowan, the Install Manager, was there to oversee everything & he did an amazing job. They placed large tarps over all our landscaping & got right to work. Rich kept us updated on progress throughout the day & answered any questions we had. In addition to the new roof, we also had new gutters with leaf guards & downspouts installed. When the work was completed, we walked around the house with Rich. Everything was completely cleaned up; there was nothing left behind or out of place. Our home looks amazing. The new roof, gutters & downspouts really look beautiful. We loved our experience with Home Genius Exteriors, especially working with both Ralph & Rich. They were so professional & knowledgeable. "I put in two requests-for-quote on Tuesday 15 January. Within hours, Mr. Handyman of Richmond responded to my requests--and to this date the other two have not. The description by the telephone receptionist impressed me from the beginning: one company, not a contractor with subcontractors, recognizable to any homeowner and recognized in the industry. I accepted the quote, because frankly I was in a hurry to get the job done. The technician did the first job within hours. This included driving out to buy new doorknobs and deadbolts, plus a key-lockable and re-key-able front-door latch and deadbolt set. At the end of the job I had doorknobs that would stay on without coming off in my hand (as the originals did--twice), and four doors all on the same key. I also had a new deadbolt on the garage door and a front door that I could double lock. While he was here I asked him to see to a seam that had opened in some drywall, and remounting a toilet paper dispenser in a bathroom. The second job he finished in about five minutes; the first he agreed to come back for. On the second day he called his office to have them call me--this because I was too far away to hear him knock. So when I let him in, I suggested now would be a good time to install a wireless door chime and ringer set, and to repair a front-porch fixture I had never been able to unscrew. Note: I suggested these extra jobs; he did not push them on me. Except for my having to make two trips to a nearby hardware store to buy some batteries, he did all the work in record time. And because one of these jobs required letting some drywall mud dry before sanding, he was able to complete all these jobs at very little extra charge--because his company charges by the man-hour and materials, whatever the job happens to be. By using his time effectively and efficiently, I saved. The results are everything I could ask for, and getting all these jobs done is a special boon, particularly since I'm planning a long road trip. If I run across any other little thing that needs doing, I'll definitely call Mr. Handyman of Richmond first. I would recommend them without reservation to anyone having a little project."

"I contacted N. Chasen and Son to replace our shutters. While working on the quote for the shutters via email, a wind storm tore some trim off our house, so I asked if they could include that as part of the work (as well as replacing some siding and a louver). They sent someone out the next week to check the shutter dimensions and determine what was needed for the trim, siding, and louver. They suggested repainting the louvers instead of replacing, and sent me a quote for all the work and to get it scheduled. On the scheduled date, Marcus was on time and very friendly. He walked me through everything they were going to do and explained that the shutters were on backorder and would be in later in the week, but he replaced the trim and painted one of the louvers (he needed a longer ladder for the second). He had to return a few times to finish the work, but he made sure it was all completed and the quality is fantastic. I'm very pleased with my experience with N. Chasen and Son and will definitely hire again when I have need."

"On a scale from 1 to 10; 10 being the highest, I would rate Brendan's work an 11.  Very professional; on time and is very detail oriented.  He cleaned every area after performing the work. He came out initially to repair items that were on a list provided from the home inspection. He came back a week later to install some hardware that had to be ordered and took care of some additional items as well.  I was so pleased by his initial work that I called again when I discovered that my dining room window had water damage which was hidden by the blinds I had removed. The repair was outstanding! I would highly recommend Brendan for any home repairs. Should I have future needs, I will certainly be contacting him again. <br />"

"We purchased a deal on Angie’s List that was $249 for an interior painter for a day. Scheduling was a couple months out but we knew that going into it. Rahim arrived on time and was very friendly. He painted our nursery (walls plus ceiling) as well as the ceiling for our guest bathroom. He was done earlier than he said it would take. He said it was because I bought really good paint (Behr Marquee) and it only required one coat. When I checked the work it looked pretty good. There were some areas that hadn’t blended together yet but I figured since he just finished the paint was still drying. When we looked the next morning nothing had changed. Everywhere he had cut in (about two to three inches near the ceiling, baseboards, and around trim) was a completely different shade and the color was not seamless like it should be. On our accent wall there was also a small area that had streaks. I sent an email to Jay, the owner of Trogdon Enterprises, along with pictures and he called me less than a couple hours later. After talking with him and explaining the problem he said he could send someone out first thing next morning to fix the problems we had. Rahim came back and was really nice about everything and once he looked at the room he said the paint just didn't cover the way it should have. Partly due to being eggshell finish and partly because it was a very light paint color. He cut in two more times and rolled the walls one more time and by the time he left we were more than confident that everything would turn out as we originally expected. The room now looks exactly how we wanted. I really appreciate Trogdon working with us and sending someone back out to make sure the work was done right and we were satisfied."
