The technician, Scott, showed up right on time (which is typical for SPH&A), extremely courteous (also typical), and did a timely but thorough job of the system checkup. This may be my favorite local business in the Richmond area; I feel I get a tremendous amount of value for the products and services they provide. When we needed our downstairs unit replaced two years ago, I went to great lengths to find the best possible value. During my research, I kept seeing comments about how great Short Pump Heating & Air was, and I have to say, it's all true. When they installed the downstairs unit, I was extremely impressed by the professionalism of the entire team, from the office staff to the technicians to the owner. In fact, I was so impressed that I had them replace the upstairs unit a year later, and didn't think twice about whom to call. As a homeowner, it gives me great peace of mind to have such a reliable organization as SPH&A for something as important as our heating and cooling system. This most recent service may have been a routine maintenance check, but it's great to know they still commit themselves to service excellence for their customers. "The plumber responded right away and kept me apprised of his arrival well within the time window they gave me. The plumber was cordial and knowledgeable. He also had resources to contact if there was a special condition with our hot water pipes fed by gas heat. He was very observant and checked the pipes for frozen areas. He was able to create warmth needed to make the hot water flow again. The whole process was smooth and efficient. We are dripping all the hot water faucets also now, not just the cold faucets. "Rich came out to replace our sludge-filled, overheating, failing old water heater. It was a difficult situation and he took the time and had the patience to do the job right. The fee was under the national average, reasonable. The water heater is located in a closet off the master bath and at first it would not drain. Rich knew just what to do. Took his time to get old one out and did not mess up our house. Cleaned up behind himself and left us with a larger water heater (as requested) and worked out how to fit it into our small location. Replaced all the plumbing to the water heater and now we have a better made, self-cleaning, more efficient electric water heater to provide us with lots of clean hot water."
