"Queen City Plumbing was one of three quotes obtained for this repair and by far the most comprehensive and reasonable. They came out on a Saturday to provide a quote and scheduling the work was effortless. The technicians arrived prompted on the day of service and I did not have to remain at home for the work to be completed. When they finished, I was emailed pictures of each phase of their work and my lawn was repaired from their digging. Will hire again for any other plumbing work needed in my home."

"Caleb communicated with us throughout the check of our system. He and myself had a problem locating a certain item to check on an alarm but he figured it out, finished assessing the problem and worked up the estimates for us to decide upon. He gave us time after completely explaining each estimate to decide. He also got on the phone and explained to another employee who might be dispatched to complete the repair once parts came in exactly what the problem was, what parts he had ordered and what needed to be done. Caleb made sure all bases were covered. We have used this company for many things over the past 8 years. We have always been very happy with estimates, work performed and with employees. We will continue to use in the future"

"John and his crew came out on a Friday after coming out for an initial visit to confirm the issues we were having. I needed to have a septic tank extractor pump replaced. In the difficult process or removing this pump, John also had to arrange to have our septic tank pumped out. The pump was difficult to install because of its location, and then right after they installed it, the bearings went out (faulty brand new pump). John called the supply house and made them stay open late so we would have functional plumbing over the weekend. They drove out, got another pump and then had to install the pump again. We also had them replace a downstairs toilet for us. Overall, they were punctual, polite and worked hard to make sure we were happy. We plan on having them come back out in install two other toilets."

"Our experience was a great one for the most part. Rooter-Man was the first to contact me, follow-up, explain all of the services and quote a "job" price not an hourly price. So I knew we would pay $175 to have our kitchen drains unclogged. Turns out it was about 5 clogs in this 100 year old house in the kitchen drains and they unclogged them all. The team was nice, cleaned up after themselves, and explained everything they were doing. No shadiness here. The one downside was they were a few hours late - but that it to be expected when you cant always gauge what kind of a job you are walking into."

"It went great ; Alex was timely , informative and did the work requested in a lot shorter time than I thought it would take ; he also gave good advice on water heater basics as well as what types would fit my situation ; could not be more happy. On a side note he came out on a Sunday @ no charge when I didn't have hot water the day after the install ; turns out it was a tripped breaker which he suggested I replace. Would recommend him to anyone who needs a knowledgeable , punctual plumber ; will keep him on my list for any future work I may need ; that first hot shower after the install was wonderful. Great repair experience ; no complaints at all..."

"Steve answered my call promptly & I had called another company at the same time. He came out the same day while the other company offered an appointment for 2 days later. He cleaned all my drains which had lots of gunk deep down in the pipes & he had to use a really long snake. He had first tried a shorter one but the water still would not flow so he came back between jobs that day with the super one & did not charge me extra. His fee for this messy job was very reasonable. He did his best not to mess up my house. His demeanor was that of a happy person with pride in his work. So I called him back to repair/replace my outside faucet that was leaking badly & to check another to an old well that was boxed off to see if it was useable. He had to crawl under my house to replace the 1st faucet's pipe that was corroded badly & ready to break! The old well faucet he cleared as working just fine once he took off the wooden box & packing around it. That's honesty. Knowing how I had to be at work he actually bought the 1st faucet for me after speaking on the phone as to the types in the store he found. Great customer service & just what I needed!"

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in New London, NC

When installing a sewer line, you should consider extra costs like tree removal, driveway repairs, or patio resurfacing. Hiring a professional plumber is essential, and you may need additional specialists if landscaping or heavy excavation is involved. Addressing these potential extras up front helps ensure accurate budgeting and prevents sudden cost overruns.

To calculate the length of sewer piping you need, measure the distance from your house to the main sewer line, adding the depth of the city main to this distance. Be sure to account for any obstacles like tree roots or utility lines that may require additional piping.

City sewer lines are installed at a lower elevation to prevent unwanted backflow and water damage. This lower positioning ensures enhanced performance and long-term safety, meeting all technical and safety standards.

With trenchless methods, a plumber inserts a smaller pipe within the existing plumbing, avoiding full excavation. It can be more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional methods, but it's not suitable for all homes.

Yes, you must secure permission from your local water authority before connecting to a public sewer line. This approval ensures your connection meets all regulatory requirements.

Sewer lines are buried between 18 inches and 8 feet deep, with most systems placed between 18 and 30 inches. In colder regions, pipes are set deeper to remain below the frost line.
