"Your company is outstanding and we are extremely happy. Our technician Garett was prompt and polite. He was very knowledgeable and explained things about our situation that we were totally unaware of. Potentially saving us time and money down the road. Garrett was attentive to our to our needs and was very careful of our pets as he was working. We would definitely use Beacon Drain Service again."

"Matt and his team came and got me out of a jam when every other landscaper I spoke with let me down. He did exactly what I needed him to at a price I could afford. There was no frustration, no b.s. To put it simply I can't recommend him enough and there's no doubt I will be using him for all my future projects."

"About 2 months ago we had the techs from Diffley Drain Service out. At that time they ran a snake through the drain and pulled out a small root 75 feet down the line which at the time seemed to clear the backup which was manifesting itself in our basement utility sink. Thirty-three days later the problem manifested itself again and to their credit even though it was three days over the warranty period they came back out without any fuss. They snaked the drain again this time going out 105 feet without clearing anything. Now here is where things get a bit dodgy, rather than add a 2nd reel of cable onto the snake (or really even mentioning it) to enable them to snake further the tech tells my wife that they will need to install an external access point in the yard so they can snake further down the line and that will cost $3000. We say we'll think about it and explore other options. Once we watched some videos and educated ourselves about the matter we ended up hiring a different drain service. The new company we hired used 2 spools of snake to be able to go further down the line and cleared a bunch of roots 140 feet down the line. BUYER BEWARE with Diffley Drain Service they seem to only give you part of the story in order to seem credible. I will say that Diffley comes quickly and promptly which when you have sewer backup issues is a positive and they are initially reasonably priced but educate yourself about your problem or you will get taken advantage of."

"I paid for Angie's list because of some of the other sub-standard plumbers who are also on here. Beware!! Steve was number 1 on here so I figured I had nothing to loose. He called me back. Said he would squeeze me in a different day. What??? He did called me before he came out even thought he came out at the time he said he would. What?? He was professional, explained what was happening and was extremely reasonable. I truly could believe it. Thank you Steve!! If you want to be treated the way you think you should there's a reason this guy is rated number 1. He earned it!!"

"Owner and his crew are impressive. The professional equipment coupled with the determination required to return old sewer lines to working order in the most adverse conditions make Sure Flow the only rooter service I will ever call. I’m also increasingly impressed with there courteous staff and response time. This is a family owned business big enough to handle the toughest jobs but small enough to care about results."

"Amazing team and service! We had flooding in our basement and as you can imagine it was extremely stressful. Kyle and his team made sure we were comfortable every step of the way. We ended up having a late service, due to other clients they had that night. Preston showed up at 730pm with smile and determination to fix our issue. He was here until after midnight, trying everything he could. Unfortunately, we had to resort to calling the city for assistance at the sewer. They recommended a plumber and helped get though a major issue at our house. Thank you Zoom Drain."

"Scott was referred to me 15 years ago by a professional realtor who he did commercial and residential plumbing work for. He has done large and small jobs for me over the years including installing complete heating systems, replacing and repairing frozen pipes in the dead of winter, repairs to main house underground water lines, bathroom fixture remodeling, and lots more. He has always been quick to return my calls, quick to come out to the house at all hours, honest, knowledgeable, clean, neat, excellent professional work completed, and provides me with the knowledge I need. His workmanship and ethics are far above all the rest! 10 Stars!"

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in Newport, RI

When installing a sewer line, you should consider extra costs like tree removal, driveway repairs, or patio resurfacing. Hiring a professional plumber is essential, and you may need additional specialists if landscaping or heavy excavation is involved. Addressing these potential extras up front helps ensure accurate budgeting and prevents sudden cost overruns.

To calculate the length of sewer piping you need, measure the distance from your house to the main sewer line, adding the depth of the city main to this distance. Be sure to account for any obstacles like tree roots or utility lines that may require additional piping.

City sewer lines are installed at a lower elevation to prevent unwanted backflow and water damage. This lower positioning ensures enhanced performance and long-term safety, meeting all technical and safety standards.

With trenchless methods, a plumber inserts a smaller pipe within the existing plumbing, avoiding full excavation. It can be more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional methods, but it's not suitable for all homes.

Yes, you must secure permission from your local water authority before connecting to a public sewer line. This approval ensures your connection meets all regulatory requirements.

Sewer lines are buried between 18 inches and 8 feet deep, with most systems placed between 18 and 30 inches. In colder regions, pipes are set deeper to remain below the frost line.
