"Scott and John were great. They both were very knowledgeable and worked with us giving us the best solution for our drainage issues. The team who did the work were very professional. The job was done within a few hours. They cleaned up the job site to the point where it looked better than when they started. I would highly recommend this company."

"It is not possible to sum up in a few words how happy and satisfied I am with Dry Tech Waterproofing. After a 2 year progressing problem with water in the basement and drainage outside from our sump pump, Dry Tech fixed everything in 3 days at a fair and reasonable cost. The crew was professional and experienced and knew how to solve all the problems. I would not hesitate to refer them to anyone with similar water problems and have already referred them to my neighbor who has a similar situation. Many thanks to Dry Tech, 5 stars is not enough and 10 stars may be to little for the work they did. WE NO LONGER FEAR THE RAIN!!!!!!!!!! Michael and Alice B. in Golden Crest, Hamilton Square, N.J."

"They responded quickly and had someone out to inspect my basement quickly and at a convenient time. They inspected my basement and recommended an $8,000 treatment. Everything they said made sense and the materials and methods they specified seemed appropriate. That was more than I wanted to spend, so I decided to try a DIY fix first."

"Can't say enough about the owner, Bob Cunliffe, the owner. He inspected, quoted, my job (no high pressure salesmen) and supervised the crew., total hands on. He's got 40+ years experience and provided the best cost effective solution for my chronic basement water problem . I interviewed 3 other companies and it was no contest. I was most impressed with his comprehensive approach, integrating new french drains with new outside gutters, concrete walkway, and landscaping. He managed all the contractors and took total responsibility for my project. Bob was very professional and working with him was easy and comfortable. The job came in on time and on budget, with a lifetime transferable warranty. What more can you ask for! Would highly recommend."

"Fast Estimate , had many estimates from other companies and Waterproofing One was the best price for Us , Joe was very confident and knowledgeable and gave Us good suggestions for our leaking basement, the crew that installed the French drain inside were great, install looks very professional. I figured we’d have a mess to clean up after the install understandably. But wow they did an incredible job cleaning up afterwards. Not a speck, they even spent time cleaning off the driveway and front lawn. We have been through one major rain storm since the install and not a drip of water. So far so good , we are getting an expected 3” in the next 24 hours and it’s a relief to know I don’t have to stress about rain storms anymore!"

"Aqua Dry was a dream to work with. On Monday, we met with Mike who thoroughly reviewed the issues we were experiencing, and described in detail the work required to remedy the problems. After carefully considering other providers, we decided to hire Aqua Dry. On Wednesday (two days later), Aqua Dry started work. Peter (the foreman) arrived at 7 am and we reviewed what was to be done and he explained again how that work would remedy our issues. The rest of the Aqua Dry team arrived at 7:30 am and promptly started work. Breaking concrete, installing new drains, closing an old ineffectual sump hole and digging a new one, drilling weep holes, adding a new pump, then performing mold protection on our walls, and lastly covering the walls with an aluminized protective cover. The team completed all of this work by 1:30 pm and had cleaned the work area (along with the access they had to my home) so well, there was no evidence they had been here, aside from the new stuff they'd added. We were also very pleased with the cost of the projects. Aqua Dry was "in the middle" of the prices we were quoted, but we felt the amount of work done and the quality of the completed project was well worth what was spent. I highly recommend Aqua Dry for your wet basement projects."

"This was a second opinion for the cost of installing a clean-out so we could get our clogged drain snaked. When they got there, they said we didn't need a clean-out because there was already a clean-out. They snaked the drain and all is well. From the time I looked for a quote on Angie's List to the time they finished the job was just about 2 hours. ZOOM is right! Great fast service, and they didn't try to sell me something I didn't need (which has been my experience lately with plumbers)."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Newtown, PA

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
