"The job was done right and looks great. The crew was exceptional. The quality of workmanship was better than expected. The crew communicated frequently and provided opportunities for input to insure the work was done to my expectations. There were a couple of occasions where the original builder had performed work that were not up to today's standards and make recommendations to correct the issues. The standards of workmanship were very professional."

"Vaclav Valek is the owner, he was one of 5 contractors I hired to provide professional advice on how to fix framing in the attic. One of the contractors never called back, and several others provided much different solutions. He provided the most honest solution without charging an arm an leg. Since I was under severe budget constraints he worked with me and had me gather the materials saving time and money for the both of us. He performed the work in one afternoon and provided good communication throughout the process."

"The quality of work is fantastic, and Marek is the best project manager you could ask for. The reason I removed one star is because I believe the quoted contract price, specifically for allowances, can improve. You should expect to add a minimum of $20,000 to your contract price. I also recommend referring to your contract throughout to ensure you aren’t getting an extra charge for something that should be included. Like I said, the quality of work is fantastic, but the up front pricing can improve."

"We used Jakubek Remodeling to remodel our two bathrooms. After the amazing work that they did for us, we now highly recommend this company to others. This was the first major home renovation we did as new homeowners, so naturally, we were nervous. We had consultations with three other contractors before a neighbor referred us to Jakubek and we could not be happier. From quote to final walk through, Dawid and his team were transparent and professional. Our building allows work to begin at 8 am and they were on time every day, ready to work. Our project was done on time and on budget. There were a number of small tasks and decisions to be made throughout the project and he worked through every single one with us. Beyond giving this company the highest rating in all aspects of their business, we must let the results speak for themselves. They completed our project just over a month ago and we can honestly say it’s more than just two beautiful bathrooms. The plumbing, fixture installation, and craftsmanship are all top notch. Thank you Jakubek Remodeling!"

"Our Highland Park basement remodel included a gym, full bathroom, guest bedroom, and media area. There were a lot of moving parts, but the project was under control from start to finish. The quality of the work shows, especially in the details. It feels like a high-end space, not just a finished basement."

"The men made a great new shower area! They cleaned up as well! I called the office to try to arrange the balance of work. Haven’t heard back from anyone - but yes! The work great!"

FAQs for walk in tub installation and replacement projects in North Chicago, IL

Because Medicare classifies walk-in tubs as non-durable medical equipment, it generally won’t pick up the tab. Medicaid can help if a doctor certifies that the tub is medically necessary, but rules change by state. Call your plan early, ask which forms you need, and keep any prescriptions or letters on file to improve your odds of reimbursement.

A walk-in bathtub’s fill and drain times hinge on your home’s water pressure and the tub’s hardware. Most models with a fast-fill faucet need about six to eight minutes to fill and two to three minutes to drain; larger basins or standard drains can tack on an extra 10 minutes. Stay seated until the water is completely gone so you don’t swing the door open on a full tub’s worth of water.

A walk-in bathtub holds 50 gallons of water, and its design supports capacities that range from 40 to 80 gallons, depending on the product. In contrast, a standard bathtub holds 25 to 45 gallons. This capacity is determined by the fixed design of the tub and its construction materials. Homeowners should review the detailed product specifications to confirm the exact volume available for use during bath time.

Walk-in tubs are tax-deductible when the purchase qualifies as a necessary medical expense and meets the IRS criteria. Caregivers who install a walk-in tub also qualify for the Dependent Care Tax Credit under specific conditions. Homeowners must verify these requirements with the IRS and consult a tax professional, as state and program guidelines enforce strict documentation standards for such deductions.
