"Placed a service call on our water heater with 2nd Century now owned by Conditioned Air, they used to be great and I used them for 15 years, They charged $169 callout and arrived really quickly (without a tool kit) took one look at he heater that was approx 5 years old and immediately quoted $1900 for a new one saying the leak was terminal. It looks very obvious to me that the copper pipe had a small leak and there was noting wrong with the heater, he quoted me $750 just to fix the copper pipe leak and said the water heater would need replacing anyway and would cost $1900 in addition if I tried to fix the pipe first. I called JCP plumbing of Naples who sent out a crew within an hour and they drained the tank, replaced the copper pipe all for $300. Proper plumbers who just want to fix things not just sell new units. Forgive me for being skptical but you may suspect the guy from Conditioned Air had zero intention of repairing my leak and just wanted to sell me a new heater. "

"I am the treasurer of an HoA in Clearwater. We had a leak in a 1.5" irrigation line very near to a large oak tree. The leak caused us to close the main valve to all irrigation on our property perimeter, which was a four city block area. The initial estimate for the broken irrigation line was $325.00. This estimate was performed byJamie, the expert irrigation specialist! The repair took nearly 1 month due to a series of errors on the part of the workers who came out. Three different teams were sent out over that period to get the repair fixed. None of the workers had the tools needed to do the job correctly the first time. It took five repair visits to finally get the leak fixed. The final bill was over $1700. Materials cost for 20 feet of PVC and a 10" valve box was $200. The company overcharged for the hours and did not give credit for the mistakes and lack of necessary tools needed. Terrible customer service! We will never use this company in the future!"

"Hillsborough Pump and Well should be your go to well people. Mike, the owner is the most responsive well operator I have encountered, responding to numerous questions and request for quotes without complaint. Calvin, Troy, and Jerry are willing to go above and beyond for the customer. My well has been inop since Helene and finally the flooding receded to a point they could change it today. It was 37 degrees when they showed up, with rubber boots on and a heroic attitude they hand carried the pump, new expansion tank and all the other necessities about 400 feet through what is still swampy conditions. While still standing in ankle deep water, they then hand pulled the pump, redid all the plumbing and restored water to my home. After my experience with this team, I will not use another company."

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in North Port, FL

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
