"Aris installed 4 bathroom exhaust fans for me. He was very responsive, scheduled and arrived on time for the estimate and install, went above an beyond to complete the project, and treated my home like it was his own. I will certainly use him again for other electrical needs, and I’d highly recommend his services."

"Great price and service! Done in 1 day! They game in and installed recessed lighting and did an electrical panel upgrade. They were also nice enough to replace a few wall outlets as well! So happy with the service! Everything looks great!"

"Devon was able to schedule an appointment to come take a look at the outlets in my home in just a couple days from when I reached out. He explained things as needed and was thorough in the work. I have him saved as the guy to call for any future electrical work I may need. I greatly appreciate the time and work provided."

Customers say: True professional

"Steve just completed a few projects for us, removed a kitchen ceiling light, replacing it with recessed LED lighting, added pendant lights, rerouted conduit so taller cabinets can be installed, added a new switch controlled outlet, replaced hard wired smoke detectors that were original to the house, did some repairs to other outlets and just today updated our microwave to be on a 20 AMP circuit from a 15 AMP, something we had not even considered. He has been professional and very attentive to our needs and we are very happy with work and will use him again if needed. He made sure we understood everything. He communicates very well and is customer focused. Thanks Steve!"

"I hired Rich to install some recessed lights in my kitchen. He came across cocky and condescending, but I hoped it was warranted based on his ability. I was wrong. He thought installing two lights essentially on top of each other was a good idea. Not only was this unnecessary, but the placement dictated the placement of the remainder of the lights. As a result, all of the other lights were placed haphazardly. The switching configuration doesn't make sense, lights in one group are turned on with lights of another group, making the whole project come across very poorly thought out. Additionally, Rich does not bring spare parts on his projects and didn't offer to go pick up a dimmer switch that I wanted to add to try to undue some of the damages resulted from the poor placement. Therefore, after mocking me for being unable to install the switch on my own, he sent me to Menard's to pick up a switch for him to install. Overall, I wish I went with someone else. Obviously. Rich also does not leave with extra parts. Originally, I wanted 10 lights, but half way through the project, I realized 8 would suffice. However, Rich advised that he'd be charging me for all 10 anyway, so I might as well stick with 10 lights. So now I am stuck with 10 lights."

FAQs for electrical switches, outlets & fixtures install or repair projects in Oak Brook, IL

To select and hire an electrician for your light switch installation, start by evaluating candidates as you would for any skilled position. Ask detailed questions, request a written quote, and verify their licensing credentials. This careful screening prevents unexpected fees and ensures every aspect of the installation, including any drywall repairs, complies with code.

A light switch can malfunction due to compromised wiring or overheating conditions. Faulty connections and excess heat diminish the switch’s performance. If you hear crackling, popping, or hissing sounds when toggling the switch, this indicates active electrical faults that pose a safety hazard and demand immediate professional inspection. Prompt attention prevents further damage and ensures reliable operation.

Installing a light switch takes 30 minutes or less, on average. The installation time depends on the switch type, with dimmer switches requiring additional time compared to standard on-off switches. While the hardware replacement might be completed in 15 minutes, it's essential to adhere to safety protocols, like turning off the circuit breaker and verifying there's no power, for a safe and code-compliant installation.
