Instead, Chris went ahead and completed the repair without telling me how much it was going to be up front. Although I did receive an Angie discount , and the ac now works, this feels bitter sweet, as the supervisor/boss on the phone straight up told me it is either this or no AC . In hindsight, I should have asked to put the broken part back, and kept shopping. Specially considering the part itself is around $50...."
