"The project was completed seamlessly and Jim and his helpers were competent, hard-working and didn't mind explaining what was going on every step of the way! His years of experience are evident, and make him a great diagnostician and problem-solver. He even went out to buy stone to line the bottom of the trench dug outside of the house to insure that the new pipe would be stabilized underneath! There were a number of things that could have been complications (like tree roots, and breaks in the pipes going to the septic tank), but it was clear to me that Jim would be able to address them, if they did surface. This was the kind of thing that makes a homeowner very nervous, so I was so relieved that I had Jim do this work. Experienced, competent, honorable, and a really nice guy! So glad that I won't have to conduct searches for a plumber in the future!"

The next day he picked up, brought, and installed a top new toilet and removed the old, rusted broken one. "Todd was extremely responsive and called to schedule an in-home estimate the moment I clicked "request a quote" on the Angie's List site. He provided an estimate for both quartz and granite. I then went to their showroom to choose the quartz I wanted (and the sink and faucet) and to schedule the measuring. The laser measuring of my kitchen was very cool. Then the installation was scheduled--counters, sink, and faucet--and it all went very smoothly--even with a run to Home Depot by the plumber for a fitting. I really like that they contract the plumber and that all the installation is done in one day, so there's no down time in teh kitchen."

"After a plumber told me that the cause of leaking pipe was pinholes caused by very acidic water I called several companies. I decided to go with Orbit because Madison answered all my questions and concerns. I Their solution addressed all my needs. We scheduled and the systems were installed by Dylan, who was professional and efficient. He answered my questions and told me what I needed to know to feel comfortable with my new system. He also cleaned up beautifully, leaving my garage in perfect order. In the time since installation there is a noticeable difference in the water. I also feel like my skin is benefitting from the softer water. and the acidic levels in my well water are controlled."

"Vince called me back within hours of my sending him a message through Angie's List.  Even though he does not list Montgomery County as one of his service areas, he was completely willing to help us out.  In my message, I had requested the work to be done onsite but Vince explained why having him pick up the generator and take it back to his shop to work on it would make more sense.  His charge for pick-up and delivery back to us was only $34.95.
When Vince came to pick up the generator, he was on time and was able to give me a ballpark cost for the work (which turned out to be very accurate).  He said that he could get it back to us in 3-4 days but I asked if he could do it faster as there was a snow storm predicted for the next day or so.  Vince agreed to a shorter time line and ultimately got the generator back to us within 1 day!  There ended up being no snow storm but we got our generator back in working condition - along with a booklet of care instructions, a copy of our invoice, and a service history form.  A few days later we received a hand-written Thank You card in appreciation of our business.  I can't imagine how the service could have been any better.  We will use Vince for any future small engine repairs/maintenance we have and highly recommend him and his services.

"Pros: It went well, and the overall quality is good - they offered alternative solutions other contractor estimates did not (to help lower the cost). They take pride in their work and are willing to go the extra mile for satisfaction, even after work completion. Cons: We put our deposit in and signed a contract a few months before the job, and it wasn't until a week or two before the job we found out the material was discontinued (after we already selected paint color and floor design from separate contractor) We were forced into their schedule, after noting certain restrictions we had with working midnight shift. (for items like inspections and lingering things after the "scheduled" work was complete)."

"George came out to our home at the scheduled time. The estimate we received was fair and within our budget. On the day of his guys arrived 30 min prior to the start time and were very professional. They moved all our furniture and made sure everything was covered and protected before they started the work. His crew was very professional and clean. George was on site and always available for any questions."

"Robert called when he was enroute and arrived early. Hired him as an electrician for the day. During the day he replaced 2 ceiling fans and replaced 5 outside lights on the porch, garage, and back porch. He replaced a fuse for the ceiling fan, and changed out the front doorbell switch after trouble shooting it. He replaced a smoke detector and he replaced two light fixtures in our bathrooms. After completing all electrical work early, he gladly changed out a faucet in the powder room, and put up new 3-piece bathroom fixtures in all three bathrooms. All in a day's work. "We requested estimates from 2 companies, Benjamin Franklin Plumbing and Surfside Plumbing.  Benjamin Franklin responded punctually and gave us a written estimate.  We wanted to check prices so we called Surfside.  It took a couple of calls, but my husband finally spoke with the owner of Surfside.  He said it wasn't necessary to come out and look at the job and he quoted an hourly rate and an estimate of 1 to 3 hours to complete the job.  His estimate was considerably lower than Benjamin Franklin.  We told him we'd buy the sink and faucets and call to schedule an appointment.  Within a week we had both.  We called to schedule. 

The owner answered our call after several tries to reach him and said he would call back when reached his office.  No return call.  After a few days we finally called and spoke to the owner.  He said he would be out the next day.  He came out and suggested that the sink we purchased would not work well with our silestone counter top.  I agreed and we decided to buy a better quality sink.  Within a week we had the new sink.   Again we tried to schedule an appointment.  It took about a week to finally connect with the owner.  Our sink was finally installed.  The men that were sent to do the work did a great job.  And we saved a couple hundred dollars on installation.  Even considering the problems with scheduling, I think the owner tries to accommodate customers too much, we are very happy with the work that was done.
