"I've hired Justin and his team for many projects over the past seven years. He helped us remodel our basement which required moving walls, installing luxury vinyl tile, painting, and installing new lighting. The work is consistently very good and his team is reliable and great to engage with. I can explain what I want done and he delivers exactly that. He is not always the cheapest, but he's not expensive either, and you get what you pay for. If I have a minor issue he's quick to resolve it. I highly recommend Adam Contracting!"

"This is the second time we've used this company to fix things around our home that are too large and complicated for us to do ourselves but too small for huge contractors to take on. <br /> <br /> We've loved the finished work in both cases. We very much appreciate the fact that the House-to-Home Solutions workmen are able to make MacGyver-ish fixes for a home that was built in the 1930s. And we are always very happy that they never quit on a project until they've figured out something that's functional, and long-lasting, and good looking. <br /> <br /> Of course, working out those fixes takes time. And it's not cheap. But if you're willing to invest the time and money, you'll end up with a fix that's done well. <br /> <br /> Our last contract involved replacing an ancient, decaying garage window, and installing new railings for a porch and two outdoor sets of stairs. <br /> <br /> For the window, the House-to-Home crew put in framing that Daniel, the company's owner, didn't like. He had them rip it out and start over. And then, only when they had the new frame's measurements, did they order the new window. So it took some time. But the window is now perfect. <br /> <br /> The railings were even more complicated because the slope of the steps was too steep for the factory configuration of the railing parts. The House-to-Home folks had to cut into the brick in a couple of places to make it all work. Also, on two different occasions, parts were damaged when they arrived. But Daniel won't install something that's not right, so he sent the parts back. Those setbacks meant a series of delays. BUT when House-to-Home finished the work, it was perfectly done. We didn't have to call them back to tweak anything right away. And we have no complaints at all one year later?so the work is durable. <br /> <br /> We know that we'll have to have other fixes done to our home. Things break, especially in an older building. But we're confident that we can call Daniel and he'll solve everything beautifully. He always does. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />"

"Anthony was very courteous and helpful. Answered any questions that I had. Replaced my keypad and didn’t leave until I was satisfied with my repair. I would use them again and I’ve already referred them to my sister if she ever needs service to her garage."

"I am an interior designer and have been working with Jed for nearly a decade now. We first met through a very discriminating client who wanted a modern, egg-crate style built-in bookcase for their penthouse condominium. The result was absolutely gorgeous. From there, I brought Jed in to build out a 30’ home office with a rustic, old-world Italian feel. This elaborate project involved wrap around built-in bookshelves that followed a pitched roof line and several dormers. We added rustic beams and refaced the kitchenette cabinet doors to match. It was again, amazing and completely transformed the space. There have been a number of projects since then (wine walls, live edge standing desks, etc.), all with various degrees of complicated details, and Jed has consistently delivered the highest quality craftsmanship. He is able to work in a wide range of design aesthetics and can handle most any challenge. I strongly value his honesty, integrity and the professionalism he brings to every job. He is wonderful to work with, always going the extra mile to make sure the work is perfect and the clients are delighted."

Diego was able to work with us and offer advice on several little small things that ended up making our project even better than we could have hoped for. Fair prices and absolutely amazing work. FAQs for garage building service projects in Oxon Hill, MD

A well‑constructed, properly permitted detached garage adds between $12,000 and $36,000 to a home’s resale value. Buyers appreciate the secure parking, extra storage, and flexible workspace, so appraisers often bump the property’s value accordingly. The exact return depends on the garage’s size, finishes, and how well it matches the main house, but most homeowners see a strong ROI when the build meets local codes and passes inspection.

Yes—once it meets local building codes and you secure the proper permits, a detached garage can be converted into living space. Finishing the interior, adding climate control, and ensuring safe egress effectively increase your usable square footage, though it may not always count toward the official listing. Skipping permits can trigger fines and even force you to undo the work, so always clear plans with your city first.

Most homeowners policies cover a detached garage under the “other structures” provision, but coverage limits vary. Review your declarations page and ask your agent how much protection you have for separate structures. If the limit is lower than the garage’s replacement cost, you can raise it for a modest premium. Confirming the details now prevents headaches if you ever need to file a claim.
