"We recently used this screen company for our pool enclosure and could not be happier with the results. From the initial consultation to the final installation, the entire process was smooth, professional, and effcient. The crew arrived on time, worked digently, and paid close attention to detail. The enclosure looks fantastic! If you are looking for quality workmanship and reliable service I highly recommend them! "

"Hired Ed Ryan to enclose a large rear porch and convert it into two bedrooms and a small home office and a 23 foot by 7 foot rear patio. Ed was very professional and easy to work with. He was really good about keeping us informed sharing the good and bad news as the project progressed. We are very pleased with end result. The project took longer than we had planned but it was because of delays with the city's plan approval process. We almost did not choose him because he was the low bidder out of five we interviewed. So glad we did. Quality work, fair price, and easy to work with. We recommend him."

"I spoke with Jorge on the phone.  He arrived at the scheduled appointment time for an estimate.  I called him back a few weeks from the estimate.  He came out again to measure and we agreed on a price.  His prices were fair, gave me three different prices for three different types of repair and replacement.  His installer came out on time to complete the work.  I had pet screen put on the back patio and regular screen on the front.  Both the installer and Jorge were professional, listened to my concerns and I am happy with the work performed.  Would use Jorge again. <br />"

"I needed to replace my deteriorating screen porch enclosure. I initially contacted a different company that one of my neighbors had used and received a quote, but when I asked some questions about the quote they decided they were too busy to do the job. <br> <br>I found Screen Builders on Angie's List. I contacted them via e-mail and received a quick response. Most of my communication with them was via e-mail, mostly with Debbie Demarco. Debbie was usually pretty quick to reply to e-mail. Jim came out to get measurements for a quote about a week after I first contacted Screen Builders, and Debbie e-mailed me the quote the next day. It was quite a bit higher than the previous quote I had received, but included better materials and a building permit. I asked Debbie about an Angie's List discount, and she told me she would give me a discount when I'm ready, but didn't tell me how much. When I pressed her, she told me she would give me a $150 discount. I decided to go with Screen Builders rather than looking for a third quote. <br> <br>Debbie e-mailed me the contract and paperwork I needed to get HOA approval for the work, and I obtained HOA approval within a couple of days. Debbie then asked me to send her the signed contract with a deposit (50%), which I did. A day or two later, I received a hard copy of the original (unsigned) contract in the mail, and Debbie said I needed to sign and return that one too, along with a survey. I e-mailed her a survey from my closing and mailed the signed contract. Several days later I received more paperwork in the mail, needed to get a building permit, so I signed those forms and mailed them back. It would have been a lot easier if I had received all the paperwork at once so I could mail everything back together. I mentioned to Debbie that I was going to be out of town for a week, so if she needed anything from me, to let me know before then. <br> <br>While I was away, I received a voicemail message from one of the engineers (a different Jim) who wanted to take final measurements for the enclosure. The message said Jim was planning to come the same day, a couple of hours later. I called him back and told him I was out of town so he couldn't come until the following week. He said he would let the office know and they would get back to me the following Monday to reschedule. <br> <br>I didn't hear from anyone, so I contacted Debbie about a week later, and she told me they were still waiting for the building permit. About a week after that I contacted Debbie again to ask about the permit; I also told her that I would be out of town again, and the work would need to be completed in about two weeks from that point, otherwise they would have to wait I was back. The next day Debbie informed me that they got the permit and they would schedule someone to take final measurements. Jim #2 contacted me the next day and came out the following day to take measurements. A few days later I was called to schedule the actual work, so we scheduled it for two days later. <br> <br>I was expecting the crew to arrive between 9:00-9:30 that morning, and the crew of one (Israel) arrived around 8:30. I asked him if anyone else was joining him, but he said this job only required one person. I brought him around back to the porch, and the first thing he said was that he didn't know he was also removing an enclosure (even though that was on the contract). He said he could handle it, and got right to work. <br> <br>The work took about 4 hours. The quality of the new enclosure is much better than the original one, and seems to be installed very securely. There are a few minor cosmetic issues with the alignment of the center horizontal beam, but not enough to bother anyone. The screen door sticks a little when you open it, but it's not a big deal. Israel cleaned everything up really well and didn't mess up any of the landscaping or mulch outside the enclosure. <br> <br>Overall, I think the quality of the work and materials was very good. I thought Screen Builders was a bit disorganized and could have done a better job keeping me up to date, but at least they responded quickly to my e-mails. I would consider using them again, but I would also get a quote from one of the other highly-rated providers on Angie's List before making that decision. <br> <br>"

"Going with Advanced Hurricane Protection was the BEST decision! First, they came up with a design and plan that addressed 2 difficulties: the fit of a door that was not standard size and avoiding the replacement unique oversized large window. Their pricing, even with some special adjustments of the non standard door, was competitive. They did their work in 2 stages- shutters first and then the windows and doors separated by the Holidays. The men who did the shutters arrived on time and worked exclusively outside of the house. They solicited my preferences when it was appropriate - especially re the placement of the bottom tracks for the patio shutter enclosure. They even gave consideration to the placement re my dogs and their access to the doggie door! They protected all of my patio furniture and cleaned up when they were done. I was very impressed with them. Oh- and they wore masks because of covid when near me. They showed me how to work the shutters and locks and gave me maintenance tips. Overall a really nice job. The team that worked on my windows arrived on time and were tidy when working and considerate in my home to wear masks. They draped my furnishings to minimize the dust and vacuumed when complete. They worked one room, of my preference, at a time to minimize the disturbance within my home. They were a happy team as I could hear them talking with each other nicely and sometimes laughing with each other. They did a great job and made it all look so great! The windows and doors are quiet and good looking and feel heavy yet they glide in their tracks. Really nice! One handle didnt function as well as they thought it should and they brought it to my attention and said they would have it addressed.. and sure enough in no time, the Shwinco Representative arrived to resolve it fully. The team had the papers for the permits and inspections ready for me when I prepared to settle the bill. I am so impressed with the windows and very very impressed with their installation. I will highly recommend AHP and Shwinco to my neighbors and friends."

"I was super happy with ABC Screens. One of the best experiences I've had with a home improvement/maintenance contractor in the 14 years owning a duplex, having spent well into 6 figures over that time on work and materials. ! I like to do why reviews a few months later since unexpected issues can arise, and you want to know how well they're handled. Everything went well. Their communication was clear, service fast and good quality, good window screen materials (no tears, sturdy but light, keeps the no-see-em midge flies out as well as mosquitoes and more), price reasonable . I reached out for a bid because my front door screen was bent, out of shape, had gaps for bugs to get it, and didn't always close well. I had similar issue with a rental unit front screen door. They were able to fix them without much repair nor any replacement. Saved me a money, so I trusted them. So I gave them opportunity to quote to replace all my window screens since I appreciated their time and honesty and was within a year or so of replacing them, as 1-2 screens were missing, 1 had a problem that could let a clever bug in, and all were old style that can't block the smaller bugs. Their quote was reasonable, and they could install about as soon as I was ready. I'll definitely call them to replace my rental unit's window screens when the time comes."

"We love the screen and we think they did a great job.  We had two separate spaces done which is very neat and it was a screen for lanai.  They were very good and they knew their staff.  They have the measurement so they don't have to come back.  This is done to an exact measurement; they have to put in electricity all things that require electric screen with a remote.  Everything works.  They told us how to maintain it and they told us that the little wrinkles that you see in the fabric....the more you use it the more it would go away.  Now you can tell there's not a wrinkle there.  We were pleased but I do get the referral from put neighbor."

"Florida Palm Construction went above and beyond any construction crew I have ever had working in my home. I never once had the feeling that they were cutting corners. I never once worried that they were not delivering the highest quality of workmanship possible. They were responsive to my concerns and truthfully aimed for my complete satisfaction. It felt really great to trust everyone on the team, from the project manager, Robert, to the daily working crew, mainly Corey. Iliana and Brian were also very accessible and communicative. We are very happy with our new kitchen. :)"

"Installed all doors (7 doors + 1 kitchen sliding window) in one day. Good, clean, professional job. Were present for city inspection to ensure that all requirements were fulfilled. Followed up with us to see if there were any finishing touches that needed to be completed within a few days. Very responsive to questions and concerns. Great pricing."

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Palm Beach, FL

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
