"We had an addition put onto our house last year. There were endless delays, the project took much longer than estimated, and the equipment brought in tore up the yard and driveway. When cutting into the house the wall to my daughters bedroom and the living room were punched through and suffered water damage, which they magnanimously painted the one wall to cover. The yard and driveway were never addressed because it “isn’t part of the contract”. Hence, the outlet pipe for the sump pump was simply run about ten feet straight out from the house, a foot above ground. Speaking of which, the sump pump is pretty much UNDER THE BEDROOM FLOOR. The final straw for me was when I requested plain ceramic light fixtures in the closet, and was given shoddy, overpriced plastic fixtures, with the excuse being that the ceramic ones weren’t available anywhere. I’m not going to say that I was lied to, but it took me all of a trip to Walmart to find them, and replace them myself. When I presented the contractor with the cheap lights, I got a guilt trip about how he was going to have to eat the cost of them. Pity. Shortly after construction, I had an unrelated plumbing problem and contacted the plumber we used, and Apex demanded a cut before I could get the work done. Said it’s how he keeps his guys “loyal”. I ended up paying an extra $80ish for precisely nothing. So here I am, some 14 months later and still finding little problems cropping up and fixing them at my expense as they do. I’m not happy, but based on previous interactions, I guess ‘happy’ just wasn’t covered in the contract. To be fair, the overall construction is satisfactory I suppose. It looks nice and doesn’t creak in the high wind that we get here. The roof and windows don’t leak and the floors are solid, but on the other hand the walls and floor are cold as **** in winter (work was completed in summer, so who knew), and the pipes and air ducts are poorly (see also: not) insulated, which I didn’t even think was a thing. Hence, the entire section is more or less an icebox after November. Apparently I didn’t know enough to protect myself in this situation. Hindsight being 20/20, I would not use this company again."

"We replaced wood windows with an almond color vinyl window and I cannot believe how much the windows improved the appearance of our home. The house looks newer and brighter. Several windows on our home had broken seals and after getting two estimates for window replacements from other companies, I was very confused and frustrated. Federal Windows was the 3rd company I called for an estimate and Garry was straight forward and honest with me and answered all my questions. The night before work was scheduled to begin, I realized I had not asked what I should do to get ready for the guys to start work the next morning. I e-mailed Garry and he told me not to worry about a thing and that the guys would take care of it. And he was true to his word. They showed up right on time, were very careful to place tarps on the floors. They were courteous, very quiet, and didn't leave a trace of dirt or mess. Other than the beautiful new windows, you would never have known they were here."

"Elegance Outdoor finished our entire project in just over one week. I am extremely hard to please, as my wife says,  but on this particular project Brandon with Elegance Outdoor met our expectation beyond our imagination. I can not explain the craftsmanship in his work. Every saw cut he made was precise. Brandon was very professional when speaking with us and when he got to an area that could have possibly been built two different ways he would build it both ways and then have us make our decision on which way we would like it. Would we hire Elegance Outdoor for another project? "Our home was built in 1992 and had the original front and service door and patio door. We had steel and definitely didn't want another steel. They have an Amish door line that we really liked. It's fiberglass but the look is like real wood. It's very nice, operates perfect. The lock is very unique. I like the look. We choose a fiberglass door painted for the service door. Mark recommended a door that swings out (so it can't be kicked in) which was a design change. We thought that was a good idea so we took his recommendation. The patio door we had was a 15 year old Pella that didn't work even when it was new. Our new sliding door has blinds between the glass. It's super smooth and locks in three places. Our home has the original wood windows. All 18 windows are double hungs, some were very large. We considered vinyl, but our wood is stained inside and the fake wood and the vinyl didn't look right. Our original windows were Andersen and we thought we would do those again, but we ended up doing Legacy's Amish wood line. It ended up being less than Andersen, with a better warranty and the wood is oak on the inside. My husband loved that. Furniture grade Amish finish. Just fantastic look. We couldn't do all the windows at once and Mark gave us a written guarantee to do the rest at the same price we bought the first 12! Great company to work with. James and his helper put everything in and did a great job. With the wood windows that was some trim work and it took a few days. They worked everyday until it was done. They put tarps down inside and outside and cleaned everything up very nicely. They even vacuumed around the doors inside! Legacy is honest and do what they say they are going to do. I will use them again and recommend them anyone who needs new windows or doors."
