It turned out that the wood below one of the sills had water damage and a third sill had water damage. The job required more work than expected. S&S assessed the problem, quoted a new price, purchased additional materials, and replaced all the damaged wood. S&S used pressure-treated wood, beveled the sills so water would drain, installed the sills with precision, and sealed them with caulk. "Technician came to the house and analyzed the problem. It was determined that the cost of repair was over the allowable Choice Home Warranty limit and it should be replaced. Choice Home Warranty issued their replacement cost. This cost was unacceptable and I challenged their figure. After some negotiation I was offered an increased settlement amount. I still balked at their offer but I was told to take it or repair my old microwave. I finally accepted their amount, even though it is still well below what it will cost me to replace the unit. I might add that the existing microwave has the convection feature and I want to replace with same features. The cost that I will receive also does not include any removal, disposal or installation costs. At this time I am debating whether I will continue with Choice Home Warranty or consider other options."
