Matt was very detailed and checked in on everything to make sure we were getting what we wanted. In the end he asked us to make a list of anything that needed to be addressed and there was absolutely nothing to mention. They did a perfect job, the quality of the work is amazing, and the entire team was very nice, professional, and trustworthy! Lew (co-owner) helped me to figure out what I needed, but at the same time, respected my simpler taste and budget. The work crew was terrific. I work from home 3 days a week and I was totally comfortable while they were there and equally comfortable when I wasn't there. I have a snarky dog whom the crew completely charmed. I can't say enough about the friendliness, cleanliness and politeness of the workers. I found the folks at Merryfield to be good communicators, timely and flexible. The company was very responsive and came out fairly quickly to provide an estimate. The owner seemed to know what he was doing with all the measuring. There was a little bit of a language barrier, but it was minor.

We received the estimate in the next couple days  through email and that's when we began to question if we should use this company. The estimate only included the cost of labor not the materials! He was expecting that we the homeowners have to go out on our own to get the materials not knowing how much anything costs. Very confusing and unprofessional. Who gives an estimate with just the cost of labor? The contractors job is to provide the cost of labor plus materials. Also, there wasn't a total on the estimate so we even had to add everything up ourselves.

My recommendation to this company is to do a better job with the estimate costs. Include materials. Homeowners don't have the time to shop for everything with no input from the contractor. We decided to use another company.

He made sure to quote out all the possibilities for rebuilding and reinforcing our deck. His workers arrived on time and were able to get the job done in just two days.
