"It went excellent. There was a lot to do (lawn, hedge and tree trim, leaf removal, mulching) but Green 4 Life was able to get our front and back yards looking spectacular in one day."

"I'm not sure how Stewart's Lawn Service is, but I can without a doubt NOT recommend them for landscaping. As soon as they deposited my down payment for our project, it became a huge disappointing nightmare! From lack of communication, to flat out lying to us and lying about us (in their internal records system - saying we had picked finishes or that they had talked to us, or that they couldn't get a hold of us), to poor workmanship - I would never in a million years recommend them to do any backyard project. We had them replace retaining walls, concrete patio and steps, and install stone steps in our back yard. I'm not sure the retaining walls were installed properly (I don't think the french drain drains anywhere), the stone steps had to be repositioned 4 times, the pavers that were installed had to be re-done in one section because they created a tripping hazard around our pool, and the concrete steps look like a 4 year old played with modeling clay (and that was after they came out 3 times to fix them). Dirt that was dug up was haphazardly thrown in the yard - and only when we complained did they attempt to make it look leveled out. I had requested an itemized project estimate - give me a general idea as to where they came up with their final estimate for each part of our project - and never received that. Also never received a project drawing/rendering prior to the start of our project. Had I known anything about landscaping projects - I would have been adamant about getting those prior to giving a deposit. Overall, very disappointed to have spent so much money and not love the outcome."

"Dave and his crew did an amazing job. Very professional, yet friendly and helpful with questions. Price was very fair. We've received several comments from friends and neighbors about how great our front garden looks. We are extremely pleased with the work and would highly recommend DCI for any landscaping needs."

"Would not recommend at all ... To summarize, the service was inconsistent and the cancellation process was absolute trash. Details provided below: 1) Of the approximate 9 treatments scheduled, 3-4 of them were questionable. In one case my doorbell camera recorded a service person fertilizing my lawn in under 60 seconds. No exaggeration - this includes time spent pulling the hose from the truck and replacing it. I suspected some visits had been too short, but this was confirmation. I submitted a few complaints but saw no significant change in service. 2) For the record, my lawn was still brown at the end of the summer, despite my constant watering. (It's my belief that the inconsistent service played a significant part in this result.) 3) During one visit, the service person placed the lawn marker on my neighbor's yard, leading me to conclude that he'd serviced my neighbor's lawn instead of mine. 4) When someone came to aerate the lawn (one of the services I was most interested in), there were clumps of dirt left in my front and back lawns. I'd researched the aeration process previously, so I had been aware that digging was involved, but I wasn't prepared to have to remove the dirt covering the entire area. It might not have been such a big deal if I was warned or if there hadn't already been ongoing issues with the service. 5) Finally, the cancellation process is absolutely horrible. I originally called to cancel in November 2021 when the services for which I'd prepaid were complete. The agent I spoke with asked if I wanted someone to come out for a complimentary service and I told her they could do that, but I was still interested in cancelling. I asked her several times if I needed to do anything else to cancel and she said "no." Fast forward to March 2022 and I received a text that I had a service appointment coming up. Apparently, if you agree to have the free service even after cancelling, you essentially give them permission to keep your account open. Also, when you call to cancel, they don't do it right away. They make you wait to be contacted by a different agent. I had to do this process twice as I somehow lost connection with the first agent before she could confirm my cancellation. This meant I had to call back and do the cancellation process again with another agent. I wouldn't have insisted except TrueGreen's fine print instructs customers to receive a confirmation number when cancelling."

FAQs for lawn and garden sprinkler system installation projects in Phoenix, MD

While drip irrigation systems have higher upfront costs, they can save you money in the long run. By delivering water directly into the soil with minimal evaporation and runoff, drip irrigation systems conserve water and improve efficiency. This means better performance and results for your landscaping, and cost savings over the system's lifespan.

Yes, irrigation systems can add value to your home, especially when installed with high-quality materials and a solid design. A well-irrigated landscape enhances curb appeal and can attract potential buyers. However, poor design or installation may reduce performance and even decrease your property's value. Hiring an expert for installation and performing regular maintenance is key to securing the long-term benefits.

A local irrigation professional can help you check your drip irrigation system to make sure it's in good shape. You'll want to make sure the water pressure is in a good range, repair any leaks as soon as possible, and cover the cost to winterize your sprinkler system as recommended by your irrigation contractor.

A drip irrigation system lasts between 10 and 15 years. This lifespan is determined by the quality of materials, the precision of installation, and regular professional maintenance. Unlike traditional sprinkler systems that can last up to 50 years, the thinner piping used in drip systems is more sensitive to UV exposure and environmental wear. Proper upkeep and timely repairs enhance durability and ensure consistent irrigation performance.

Drip irrigation is best suited for plant beds, containers, greenhouses, and row crops. It supplies water directly to individual plants, ensuring precise moisture control where it is needed most. For areas with simple layouts, above-ground systems work efficiently, while subsurface installations may be cost-prohibitive in spaces with extensive tree roots or irregular terrain. Proper planning maximizes the benefits of drip irrigation across a variety of applications.
