He arrived with a complete package/brochure which included a letter of introduction and an unsolicited list of references of work completed within our local area. Randy was very patient with us in trying to decide whether to use cedar or pressurized wood to support the deck as well as our seasonal porch. On the first day of work, a three man crew arrived with Brandon as the lead team member. The crew was very professional, knowledgeable, and quiet as they worked for the next five days. "We had MYA Construction do a deck rebuild for us. Deck was built to become a screened in porch in the future. Communication was outstanding and prompt. Quality was exceptional. They are very professional and you can tell they take pride in their work. Our deck was done very quickly and they communicated where things were at every step of the way as far as material delivery timing and inspection schedule. We are very pleased with the results. "Our project: Full kitchen redesign including changed floor plan. Plus remodel the dining room, living room, hallway, entry way, basement living room and hallway. Also new stair railing system. Basically everything except bedrooms and bathrooms. We got quotes from several different companies and all 3 were around the same price point for our project. Peak stood out from the others because they were the most professional and seemed the most interested in helping us achieve our goals. Initially we worked with Eric who listened to what we wanted and helped us design our remodel. He provided us with a 3D model of the new layout and space along with an estimate. We then worked with their extended teams to pick out all the materials like flooring, counter tops, cabinets, tile, doors, hardware, paint colors, lighting, etc. It took longer than they expected to start and finish the job but we're very happy with the end results. "Working with Artistic Fence was a great experience.  We needed a fence that could contain a dog that can climb chain link, but didn't want a privacy fence to cut us off from our neighbors.  Amy from Artistic Fence came and looked over our property, talked about our options for our fence, and wrote out a bid right there.  She answered all my questions, and was very helpful and professional.  Their bid came in on the low end of the quotes we got.  Their building timeline was reasonable, even though it was the busy season for new fences, and the folks that came to build the fence where prompt, and impressively efficient.  The fence is exactly what we hoped for, and is beautifully done.  We couldn't be happier with it.

Update: A few months after the fence was installed, a few of the wooden caps that cover the fence posts began to split, assumedly because of water.  I called them, they sent someone out, and replaced the broken parts free of charge under the warranty."

"Hal's work is top-notch but I grew increasingly frustrated with the timing and inconsistency of his work habits. His was one of several estimates I received and basically he said he would beat any estimate I received. The difference is that everyone else was going to use cedar and he only works with pressure-treated Southern yellow pine, which is less than half the cost of cedar. I was unsure of the durability and longevity of that product so I did extensive research online. Still unsure, I drive around the Twin Cities to see other jobs Hal did that gave stood the test of time and I decided to move forward. Clearly, the way he builds his fences require considerably more manual labor than those built with cedar posts and pickets so essentially instead of paying for the higher cost of cedar, you pay for increased labor costs. Unfortunately, Hal isn't as going as predicting when he will get jobs complete as he is completing them well. He was over a month late in getting started and I repeatedly had to call him to inquire about the delay. It was quite frustrating but since I didn't absolutely need the fence done by a certain date, I decided to practice patience. Once he finally started, most days he and his helper only worked 4 hours so the project dragged on far longer than I thought it would. Admittedly, there were a couple of weather-related days but other times when it was a perfect day, they wouldn't show up and I would give no idea when they were coming again. After I told him I really needed to have him be more communicative, he was and within a short time after that conversation, he completed the fence. The fence is beautiful and appears very sturdy. We'll see how it withstands time and weather but for now I am very happy with it. Hal does beautiful work but if you are on a strict timeline I would not recommend working with him. If you are flexible and don't mind putting more effort into communication, he is a great person to work with.

"The only thing I was dissappointed in was that the deck has a rough finish, but I suspect that was due to the previous sealing that was done by someone who wasn't experienced (family friend).  This guy said they could buff it next time, so that's OK.
They were very responsive to a spot that appeared to not have taken the stain as well as the rest of the deck surface; they came back right away and resolved that."

"Adrian and his crew did an excellent job from start to finish.  Within a week of signing the contract, they were at my house and working.  They discovered that the original siding did not have plywood or wrap behind it.  Adrian called me immediately, explained the situation that I had to have the wood and wrap behind the siding.  He gave me a very fair price on the additional work and material.  They got the material and started work the next day.   The staff is nice and courteous.  The house looks great! I plan on having them come out either in the fall or next spring to do additional work.  "
