"Phipps Masonry repaired the mortar that fell off from a section of bricks on our front house wall and they are very professional, friendly and did a great job. This is the company to go with any brick repairs and I highly recommend. Joseph and Mike were really helpful and awesome!"

"

Albert?s man came in at 9:30am.  He had the wallpaper and the glue removed by noon, the walls patched (my walls didn?t need much patching) and primed by 2:30pm and the main coat of paint completed by 4:00pm.  He didn?t hesitate when I asked him to also paint/freshen up the trim.  He even walked in with trim paint in his hand and asked about it before I asked.  He did a fantastic job that I refuse to do myself and I do a lot of my own home repair and upgrading.  He covered my new cabinets and countertops to protect them.  He cleaned everything and left no mess of any kind.

I highly recommend Albert?s team of good hard workers that take the time to do the job right and attention to detail.  I?ll be calling them back in a few months to repaint my entire family room.  Thank you Albert for the great job.

"My kitchen tile had not had a real cleaning and sealing done in 18 years (since it was new). It was very dirty (thank goodness it is multicolored and hid the dirt)! Tony came and spent a good hour and a half or more getting my kitchen floor to look brand new again. Who knew my grout was a light gray, not a dark gray? :-) He gave me a great price for the amount of work he put in (I had an Angie's List coupon that covered most of the square footage, but not all). He was punctual and professional. I would definitely use him again."

"We have lived in this house about a year.  (The house is 12 years old).   When we bought the house the inspection report noted that there were cracks in the masonry due to normal settlement.  The inspection report noted that these should be repaired to prevent water penetration.  Doug did a full inspection of the exterior of the house to locate all cracks in bricks and masonry.
It went very well.  All the work done was outside we had a couple of delays due to weather - Severe thunderstorms.
Doug and his crew arrived on time and had all the work done in short order.
The job site was cleaned up and my back porch was much cleaner after they left than it was before they started!

"Originally, we were scheduled to have our roof inspected on January 10, but due to an ice storm it was not actually inspected until January 24. The owner came out finding that the roof was in pretty good shape. However, some of the roof caps on the various ridge lines needed to be replaced. He also found that the sealant around the pipes coming through the roof had cracked and could be letting in water from either rain or snow. The Technician came out the next day and repaired everything. He also cleaned out the gutters which were long overdue to be cleaned."

"Overall, they were very responsive and helpful throughout the estimate process. I think some deals look like they would fit a broader need but it is often difficult to assess what needs to be done on your own in advance of purchasing a deal, especially one as extensive as painting the entire exterior of the home, given the risk for wood rot or need for specialty paints, etc."

"Both Tim and Russ were very nice. They showed up when they said they would and completed the job in the time they said they would. The new shower doors were leaking and Russ returned timely and fixed the problem. I think their price was very competitive and am for the most part pleased with the work they did. There were some minor things that I was not pleased with. They left all of the large boxes that the fixtures came in for me to have to remove. The new drywall that was added around the attic ladder opening was not properly sanded down to a paintable surface and the new molding around the opening did not have the nails set. The bead-board that we had installed around the bottom half of the bath also did not have the nails set."

"Superb! Mike arrived early and completed the repair under an hour just as he told me. Excellent work. Explained everything. I was so impressed that Mike returned my call the same day, Saturday! Being a holiday weekend I figured I wouldn't hear until following week. I am very happy with Mike and his work AND his response time! Reasonable charge for work."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: repair or partially replace projects in Pineville, NC

Stone veneer isn’t a weekend DIY. Even lightweight faux panels are heavy and must be anchored, flashed, and sealed to keep water out. Missteps can lead to cracked stone, leaks, or injuries. A licensed siding contractor arrives with scaffolding, masonry tools, and the know-how to set each piece safely and neatly, giving you a long-lasting, professional finish.

Stone veneer durability is robust when expert installation and proper maintenance are employed. When installed with precision, regularly cleaned, and sealed as required, stone veneer maintains its integrity for 25 to 75 years. Inadequate installation, however, leads to water intrusion and structural issues that compromise its longevity. Consistent upkeep and adherence to quality installation standards ensure decades of reliable performance.

Covering the entire exterior of a home with stone veneer is feasible but comes with a significant cost increase. Full coverage escalates both material and labor expenses due to the additional square footage required. Many homeowners reduce costs by applying stone veneer selectively—such as around entries, foundations, or architectural accents—while still achieving an upscale appearance and enhancing overall curb appeal.

Installing stone veneer over brick or stucco is entirely possible when the underlying surface is stable and properly prepared. The substrate must be clean, dry, and free of any loose material to support a secure application. Additionally, any areas of flaking stucco or deteriorated mortar must be patched and allowed to cure fully before a professional applies the new veneer, ensuring lasting durability.

Stone veneer siding offers a substantial cost advantage compared to full-thickness natural stone. It costs 25% of the price of natural stone because it is manufactured from concrete and lightweight aggregates. This method delivers the genuine appearance of stone while featuring a thinner profile that simplifies shipping, accelerates installation, and consistently reduces material expenses.

For a 250 square foot exterior area, stone siding installation costs range from $9,800 to $18,000, while installing stone veneer costs between $5,000 and $6,000. This clear cost breakdown demonstrates the significant savings achieved with stone veneer, which uses a lighter construction method that minimizes both material and labor expenses. Homeowners benefit from these lower costs while still attaining the attractive look of natural stone.
