"We got several quotes from local HVAC providers / installers. We felt the most comfortable with the salesman from Extreme One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning and I got the best price from them which also included a 2-year membership in their Comfort Club (Spring and Fall service visits to check and tune-up my system). We were an all electric home until a couple of years ago when we added natural gas. When our 16-year old Trane heat pump developed problems this proved an ideal time to switch over to a gas furnace and air conditioner. We stayed with Trane as we were happy with our Trane heat pump. Because we have some space constraints and limitations for our new system, Extreme sent out their system designer the day before the installation to develop a creative solution that met our requirements and efficiently maximized the space with which they had to work with minimum impacts to us. The day of the install they arrived on time, were friendly but very professional and treated our home as if it was their own. They also took the time to answer my questions while the worked. Since it was bitter cold that day, they needed to be in and out all day, and we were without a heating system most of the day, they brought a heavy duty space heater to keep us from freezing until they were done. At completion, showed us how to use the new system including the new programmable thermostat, changing filters, etc. and they cleaned up everything and left our home better than they found it. They then submitted all of our rebate paperwork to Vectren and DP&L for us. We were very impressed with the whole process of buying and installing a complete new HVAC system. "They were very good with initial response, estimate, and install date. The quality of the install was mediocre; attention to detail, not so much. They did not worry too much about cleanup after the job, several examples of that; I have un-removable black goo on my driveway. There was supposed to be a two week follow-up visit and I was going to address some of my questions and issues then but was scheduled twice and did not occur either time, no call no show the second time. I realize this all occurred during a peak time of year. The unit does work without difficulty and we are happy to have HVAC but I will probably go with another company for service and maintenance.

"Kirk was getting a lot of jobs at this time and I told him we didn't have people living in the house until Thanksgiving came around so that gave him some more flex time and made the job take a little longer, but he finished about a week before I was planning on moving in. The furnace works great, and the ductwork they installed was very impressive going through three floors (through two closets). The attic wasn't the easiest place to work in and there are some neat twist and turns these guys had to take and he even cut the shelves and rod, then remounted them to fit with the ductwork. Also gave a great price compared to 4 other contractors I had quote the job."

When the initial inspection of the unit was completed, the technician discussed all of the possibilities with the repair. He was honest with me and suggested replacing the unit and the furnace as well while he was there. I like that when he gave me the estimate, both the technician and I signed it. We had hire the service company to do a complete service on the unit on June 23,2022. I would recommend Freedom Heating and Air to anyone needing service.
