"My wife and I were very pleased by the plaster work that was performed in our home by Robert Dell'aquilla Plastering. The owner and his workers did great work on about 5 different areas of our house, ranging from holes that had been punched into walls from previous electrical work, damage that had been done during storms and leaking gutters, and cracks in some rooms due to subsidence. In each case, the work was done professionally and completely, addressing the issues and leaving each area looking like new. The employees were very experienced and skilled, making some difficult repair situations look amazing. They treated our home like their own, even repairing some minor issues they spotted that were not initially requested. All of the crew were diligent in cleaning the rooms and closet areas that had been worked on. We found Robert Dell'aquilla Plastering by searching and researching previous reviews. We were very pleased with the work that they performed in our home."

"I was very happy to work with Chris and Paul at Sweet Success to convert a 48-year old woodworking machine shop into more livable space that has made me very happy (as did the cost and time involved). I really appreciate their thinking of everything and executing every aspect of their plan with exceptional workmanship. The entire crew was a pleasure to have in the house, and I look forward to completing additional projects that we have already discussed and scoped out."

"Good at first and the crew was very professional during the installation. However, there was follow up work that needed done and that is where the dissatisfaction begins. The work was performed in an gutted upstairs that was in the process of being renovated which took longer than expected (from a divorce). Anyway, I later identified one of the Unico vents to a bedroom was not hooked up (and still not hooked up). Brandon gave his word that when the renovation is complete, to give him a call to finish installing the vents to the tubes. Upon requesting completion of the installation, he wanted to charge a service fee. I am sorry but this is not how you treat customers by not honoring one's word on a $10k job."

"Josh was fantastic. I hired Josh twice on two separate inspections. He was able to schedule me within a few days of reaching out to him. He was very professional and very thorough, taking time to explain everything he was looking for and anything that he found of concern. He saved me approximately 50 thousand dollars worth or necessary work, which would have been needed to make the property livable. I would definitely recommend his company to any perspective home buyer."

"Michael is the best! We had an AMAZING experience with him as the inspector for our new home. He was so friendly and involved us in the process, answering all of our questions. We learned so much during the inspection appointment. He didn't just point out issues that needed to be addressed immediately, but also showed us some potential problem areas to keep an eye on. Michael stayed available to answer questions that arose after the inspection and was always so quick to respond. The report he provided was so thorough and was invaluable as first-time home buyers. We are so appreciative of Michael's professionalism and expertise, and highly recommend his services!"

FAQs for asbestos testing projects in Pittsburgh, PA

Asbestos appears as long, thin, or curled mineral fibers that are not visible to the naked eye under normal conditions. Homes constructed before 1989 are more likely to contain this material, so a professional inspection is essential. Because asbestos identification requires specialized techniques, having a certified inspector assess your property is the safest way to confirm its presence and protect your family’s health.

Free asbestos testing services do not exist. You can purchase testing kits online for $30 per unit, and these kits include lab fees, return shipping, consultation, sampling media, and the final results. The results from a kit are less detailed and accurate than those provided by a certified asbestos testing professional. Since collecting a sample exposes you to harmful fibers, hiring a professional is essential to ensure safety and accurate testing.

Receiving asbestos test results takes one to seven days, but different labs offer varying turnaround times. When expedited processing is arranged, the laboratory completes analysis within 24 hours; standard processing requires up to two weeks. Hiring a certified professional ensures that all samples are collected correctly and results are provided without delay, safeguarding your home throughout the process.

Home insurance doesn't often cover asbestos testing and removal. Many policies have a clause called a "pollution exclusion," which means they do not cover indoor pollutants like asbestos. However, your insurance company might cover something like asbestos siding removal costs if it is released due to things beyond your control, such as storm damage.

If a DIY project or accident in your home releases harmful fibers, you must pay for the test and removal.

Yes, you can legally inspect and remove asbestos in your house as long as it's a single-family home and not a multi-family unit. However, the EPA strongly recommends hiring an asbestos abatement pro since testing can be dangerous.

Pros have all the right tools and safety equipment, and you risk breathing in the fibers by taking samples yourself. They also know how to collect samples and safely dispose of materials properly.

Asbestos encapsulation is a process that seals asbestos-containing materials with a protective barrier to prevent the release of harmful fibers. It serves as an alternative to complete removal when full abatement is not necessary. Encapsulation costs between $2 and $6 per square foot, offering a cost-effective option that contains asbestos safely when applied by a certified professional.
