"Work was done in a timely manner. Done one day early. My only disappointment was that they cut down some drywall we had just installed with our brand new mini Split system. Other than that the basement looks great and they were reachable when needed."

"Very professional and friendly. They did a great job cleaning up and drying out our basement after a severe storm flooded it. They worked with us so that we could save some money by doing some little things ourselves. We would highly recommend their services if needed."

"The employees that arrived to do the work were good workers. They were either unaware of the contracted work or mislead. They were not going to install the J Channel per the service agreement, and they had planned to backfill the ditch with the earth they had removed. The contract called for the ditch to be filled to surface with gravel. The installers called the office and explained that a J Channel was agreed on and someone from the office delivered it to satisfy my request. They were going to install the J Channel in segments vs one solid piece across the length of the ditch. I told them the segment seems would allow the water to get thru the J Channel and weep thru our foundation once more. They did the work as I requested but had I not been there or had I been a customer that did not know any better, this job would not have been done correctly or as agreed upon in the contract."

"Since I do not live in the area where this townhouse is situated, it is imperative that I work with people I can trust. Jim is extremely reliable and communicates very well. His work is top notch and he follows through to complete the job thoroughly. He sends photos of the work that is being done so that I can see first hand what is happening. He is one stop shopping. He also repaired the gutters and installed gutter screens/shields on another call. With the furnace situation, getting parts on time was problematic, but Jim was tenacious and the repair is now complete. His team also installed two sump pumps in the crawlspace without complaint. A basement crawlspace where you cannot stand up is not a fun environment to work in. Jim and his team are troopers. I wholeheartedly recommend them without reservation."

"Great service! Kevin came the same day I called. He explained clearly what my problems were and ordered faucet parts to be sent to me directly. He returned as soon as I received the parts, fixed the kitchen faucet and repaired the leak in the basement pipe. Kevin knows his business very well and cares about customer service. He's definitely on my contact list. Thanks, Kevin."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Pocono Lake, PA

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
