I've had at least half a dozen neighbors stop in to see their work and ask for a business card! And the clean up...my goodness. Each day they wrapped up everything, put tools away, and keep everything so tidy and clean. I really appreciated that. No mud and dirt everywhere...it was incredible! "I called Waterproofing Inc on a Wednesday and we scheduled an appointment for an estimate for Saturday. Steve promptly came at the scheduled time and we reviewed the situation in my basement.   I told him of my goal to have a finished DRY basement.  He looked at my existing pump and drain. He suggested that I could apply (or have applied) plastic sheeting to the walls to help with the seepage problem. However, he doesn't do that type of work. He also asked me what I thought the problem was with the moisture problem. He suggested that he could extend the current waterproofing system along the entire back wall and gave me a written estimate for that work. The reason that I rated him a B and said I would hire him was because I didn't feel confident in his diagnosis of the root cause of the water problem and his proposed solution to address the issue so that my basement could be dry. I am looking for a one stop shop with a solution driven individual who comes in as a problem solver. I just didn't get that from Steve. He didn't even look (or ask to look) outside the house to see how the water comes off the back of the house where the problem is.  I'm guess if I just wanted someone to drill up the concrete and put a drain in, he would be fine because his price was reasonable for that work. But I'm looking for a holistic solution provider who will address all issues with the most effective and efficient techniques to keep my basement dry.  I just wouldn't hire him for that role."

Marvin is very conscientious business man. He showed up when he said he would, worked under some of the hottest conditions imaginable to complete the work as scheduled. When a couple of issues arose he returned and redid things until I was 100% satisfied.

One of my neighbors saw his work and contracted him for concrete work at his house. He ensures customer is completely satisfied and is a man who keeps his word. I would definitely hire him again

"Richard and his crew built me a 500 sq ft concrete patio. Unfortunately, the weather kept delaying the project, but they worked hard to get the job done despite the weather. They stayed late and were flexible with me and my needs. If I had any issues, Richard was quick to resolve and help out. Only thing I would change is that the weather (torrential downpours) made the work site messy, I will need to clean up some of the splatters of concrete on my fence and reprint a bit. But mother nature causes problems like this.

"Contacted Jimi at Mailbox Express (of Northern Virginia) and he took the time to explain different mailbox post models, colors, and numbering options. Coordinated a timely date for installation and the day of Jimi texted me his enroute status and arrived on time. He painted post (selected brown) on site. Mailbox itself was extra large and of quality, high grade material and construction. Concrete at base was used to ensure long-term fixture and metal address numbers were painted (recommended silver on dark colored post) and nailed to flag side of post; also, adhesive / sticker style address numbers were placed on front of mailbox. Entire job took less than an hour. Overall, Jimi was extremely nice and his workmanship and attention to detail (e.g., paint, number symmetry, and post leveling, etc.) was truly outstanding! As a retired military officer, I can say without reservation that if you are in need of a new mailbox with post, you can’t go wrong hiring Jimi at Mailbox Express - thank you Jimi!"

"I had started lawn service with another company in the area last year and needed some final leaf clean up and removal of a large old wooden swing set.   After trying to contact my former company and getting blown off for weeks I decided to hit Angie:s List.   To my great fortune I stumbled across Ace Lawn and Landscape of Gambrills, MD, 
I was on Travel for work and had to work through e-mail because of time differences.  Within one hour of requesting a quote through Angies List, I was contacted by the Owner.   I provided him the scope of work and by the next day he gave me a price along with a price to take over the mowing in the spring.   The price for the clean up was extremely fair ( 3 men for 3 hours) and the price for mowing was very competitive.   I decided to go with Ace for the Work.  By the next day I had a scheduled date for the cleanup and draft contract for the spring. 
The crew arrived right at the scheduled time and had a large truck and all the equipment to do the job.  They proceeded to disassemble a large wooden swing set and removed all associated debris. Following this work the crew went through every nook and cranny of the yard and removed any remaining leaves left over from the fall.  The yard looked terrific when they were done. 
The crew were professional, diligent and courteous.   Bottom line....they won my lawn service business and I look forward to working with them through the year.

"We were quite happy with their timing. They did everything they said they were going to do. Everything worked well. We noticed that the concrete driveway that they did was starting to have a few problems later on with something called spalling where little bits of the surface was chipping away. They called their cement supplier. They basically told us that we have to deal with the cement supplier if we wanted to do anything about it. That was my only negative thing. Otherwise, they have been totally positive. They were very responsive. When they did our chimney, they even went out of their way to mount a new television antenna up there for me. I thought that was nice of them. They mounted the mast and all that stuff, and didn’t charge us extra for it. They did it as a favor. We were just fine with all the pricing for everything they have done compared to anybody else we looked at. I have a little bit of a question about the driveway because of the bit of a problem with the spalling on it. I found out about spalling later from an expert who is a friend of ours, who did it for the city of Baltimore. He said that there were treatments they might have been able to use that they as a city use. I am not sure if the contractor was even aware of the technical issue of that problem."

"All went exceedingly well.  Josh and Glenn (J & G)  were chosen by down selection from among several candidate contractors.  They responded fully to all my verbal interview questions, and they responded in writing to my specifications.  They prepared a contract that included a detailed statement of work.  They worked with me on all phases of the design and material selection.  Work commenced just days after county permit approval.  J & G managed all logistics:  equipment transportation; material delivery.  At each step, they explained what had been done, what to expect next, and what little I needed to do or supply.  Work was fast and efficient.  The whole process was fun to watch.  The resulting chimney and fireplace is a work of art.  Beyond ;sheer professionalism, Glenn and Josh are good and interesting people.
