"I appreciated how methodical Jon-Marc was in diagnosing the problem behind the leak in the kitchen ceiling from the upstairs bathtub, which appeared at first to be a failed shower diverter. But, when, after removing the faucet, the physical evidence inside the wall did not match what he expected to see with that issue, he kept looking and testing. Eventually, he identified the real problem as a failed seal around the wall soap dish, which plumbers don't repair. However, he also established that there is nothing wrong with the bathtub plumbing, which is good to know. He installed a new diverter, as the old one was starting to fail. Jon-Marc was courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and good at his job. He answered all my questions, explained what he would be doing, and stayed until the job was finished. He also kindly found that the leaking garbage disposal had rusted out. This was the second time I hired 3 Mountains Plumbing. I highly recommend the company and would hire them again."

"We took several bids to remodel our kitchen and one bathroom. At the start of the process, we only had a vague idea that we wanted both updated, without any firm ideas. We really didn't realize what could be done with either room. Charles had a competitive estimate (which was on the mark), but we selected him based on his ideas of what we could do with the bathroom. He basically gutted both rooms, including knocking out walls, taking other walls back, replacing all cabinets, moving lights, installing new countertops, and flooring. The results are fantastic. The craftsmanship and quality of material and work are top notch. For the bathroom, Charles suggested what he calls a 'Japanese style' shower and bath. Our bathroom is medium sized, but by moving a wall, he was able to install a deep soaking tub at the back of a full size shower. The entire area was tiled using a porcelain ceramic tile, that I would highly recommend. He replaced the vanity with cherry cabinets and quartz countertops, and added a set of shelves that sits on the countertop between two sinks. Because of limited space, he had a cabinet for towels built into the wall, so that it butted up against the drywall on the hallway. This gives a deeper cabinet by using the space where the wall studs go. The kitchen was just as dramatic. He removed one short wall, took out a built in pantry, removed soffits, and had another wall taken back about four feet. The old cabinets were replaced with cherry and quartz that matched the bath. The backsplash and floors were done using the same type of tile as the bath, just with a slightly different look. Because we had walls removed, the kitchen now linked directly with our dining room. As a result, the flooring that we picked for the kitchen now met up with the dining room tile (travertine) that we had. We thought it would look better if the kitchen tile continued through into the dining room. In the middle of the work, we asked Charles for a bid on tiling the dining room. At the very least, we wanted to buy the tile now, so that we would know that we could match it. Charles came back with a very reasonable estimate, and was able to add that work to our project. "Jim with Evolution Home Improvement performed a wide variety of jobs for us this fall as we prepared for a renter in our basement. He cut and later patched ceiling drywall as part of an electrical project, covered earthquake strapping with soffits, installed stair railings, built a section of cedar fencing, installed a gate in our backyard, and coordinated to have a section of linoleum installed in the entryway of our rental space. (I may have missed something there, but you get the idea; he's a jack of all trades, and quite skilled.) Jim and his employee were consistently friendly and responsive, and they did quality work across a wide range of jobs. The stair railings were partially to help my children navigate the stairs, and he was thoughtful about building them to the right height and even let my 5 year old 'help' him measure and observe for a little while. He was flexible and understanding with regards to the children's presence, which was very much appreciated. The cedar fence he built is beautiful and sturdy, and he selected a lovely gate with a very sturdy latch for keeping the gate closed while my kids are out back. The ceiling patches and soffits were precisely installed, and he made the soffits as small as possible so as to minimize their impact on the room. On his last day working, I asked him if he could help me to secure our electric fireplace, and he added it to that day's list of tasks with no problem, even though it was not in our original contract. My only concern was that there was a communication issue between Jim, myself and the flooring guy he got to install the linoleum. The flooring was installed beautifully the first time, but it was the wrong size/shape. Jim came by immediately when I let him know, he was apologetic and took responsibility for the error, and he assured us that we'd get it fixed asap. However, when his flooring guy came back to redo the job, he spoke very harshly and rudely to both myself and my mother, who was visiting. The error was not mine, but the man blamed me. Jim eventually intervened, and the job was redone, though not with the same careful attention to detail as the first time. The moral of the story is that I would highly recommend Jim and Evolution Home Improvement for odd jobs around the house, with the possible exception of the installation of flooring. Overall, the work Jim did was of high quality, and went a long way toward making my life with kids at home easier and safer."
