"No complaints. The Technician was professional and completed the tasks in a professional manner. I used an Angies list coupon for one of the jobs and it was a fair price. The other TV was a little more. I used the Angies list service because I wanted to support local business people. I was surprised to find out the Tech was an independent contractor provided by a California company. A month or so later I needed another TV mounted. In addition to Hellotech I looked into another internet company that begins with "A" that provides local contractors for home repairs. The other service was quite a bit cheaper ($118) and the repair work was comparable. If I can't avoid national internet companies I might as well go for the cheapest."

"Jeff Wycoff turned out to be a superior IT Specialist. I called him to fix my Windows 7 computer today that was acting up after the latest Windows update. He repaired it flawlessly. While he was fixing my computer my office called about the printer at the front office not printing. Jeff overheard me talking and said he could fix it. He did and repaired some other things flawlessly while there, then back to my computer. He asked if I would want the home computer cleaned up. I said yes and he did that including upgrading to Windows 10. All works smoothly. Jeff is very pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend Jeff Wyckoff of Onsite-IT-Solutions, LLC."

"PHENOMENAL. Quentin did an amazing job repairing our wall that was damaged during our move in, from the initial contact to finishing the job Quentin was very honest and helpful. He made an outstanding effort to explain what needed to be done and the different ways to go about it to find a solution that worked for us! He did amazing work and even better cleanup and all on short notice with a very tight schedule. Could not recommend Diamond j construction more. Good people and even better carpenters."

FAQs for tv or home theater accessory service projects in Portland, OR

Most professional TV repair technicians charge between $65 and $150 per hour or a flat rate of $60 to $300, including diagnostic fees. Some repair shops have minimum charges of around $100. Costs vary based on the complexity of the repair, any replacement parts that you might need, and the TV's make and model.

Fixing a cracked TV screen involves replacing the entire display panel because the screen is fragile and its repair is complex. The repair cost ranges from $400 to $1,000, which in many cases is very close to the value of the TV. Homeowners must obtain a professional estimate and compare the expense to the price of a new television, especially if the set is older.

Plasma TVs are repairable when issues arise, especially for problems involving the power supply, backlight, or control board. Repairing these components maintains the functionality of the unit and safeguards its performance. Consult a qualified repair specialist to assess the issue and determine the correct repair approach.

TV warranties generally don’t cover cracked screens or issues caused by damage or accidents. Sometimes, an extended warranty covers repairing or replacing a malfunctioning screen or other defective parts. An extended warranty costs 10% to 20% of the cost of the TV. Keep in mind that some warranties are void if you perform your own repairs.

Flat‑screen TVs have an established lifespan of 100,000 hours of use, meaning they can operate effectively for about 10 years in an average household. This lifespan is influenced by factors such as high brightness settings that accelerate wear. Maintaining moderate brightness and proper care ensures the TV meets this expectation.
