"With Hurricane Sandy looking like it was going make a close approach over the weekend, we realized we'd neglected our gutters for quite awhile.  I called Mr. Birch at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday and left a message, asking him to call me back if he had any availability to clean out the gutters before the storm's arrival.  I figured I probably wasn't the only one thinking along these lines, and I wasn't overly optimistic.  But he called back within 15 minutes and said he was pretty sure he'd be able to get it done on Friday, but if not, he could come out on Saturday.  He even let me know that they were running a special on gutter cleaning at the time.  Sure enough, they showed up on Friday afternoon and got the job done in under an hour.  They also discovered that the previous homeowners had made a shoddy repair and used improper screws to fasten the gutter to the house, and they replaced those screws with appropriate gutter screws.  Mr. Birch really went above and beyond.  I would definitely hire him again.
