"Exceptional customer service and workmanship. Dave texted me to let me know in advance to let me know he was running late (on a Saturday afternoon). As for replacing the faucet, he disassembled the old and cleaned the drain/stopper pipe, and replaced within an hour."

"I had Donna come out and scope the pipes and she let me know that i had a "belly" in my old terra cotta pipes. My house is 95 years old, and the pipes were original to the house. It was time to replace the sewage pipe, or face a back up of sewage into my home! No thanks!
Joanne and Donna worked with my schedule to find a time to do the work that met my needs. Donna, the owner, and Joanne the office scheduler have a ton of experience and advice. Donna's company really wants to do a good job for you, and they were really stand up contractors. Donna's whole team was a real pleasure to work with.
The first day, we thought that we were going to be able to do a pipe bursting technique, but as it turned out, i was not a good candidate for this type of work due to the damage to the pipes. Instead, they ended up having to dig a trench from my house to the alley- which was quite the production!
It was a huge mess, but Underground Services First's workmen were total pro's. They worked hard and diligently, and did their best to avoid any areas of landscaping that they could- in fact, they painstakingly avoided my garden, which i really appreciated.   Additionally, they had to remove the fence in the back, and remove 3 sections of concrete to get to the pipe (2 outside the home, and also inside). At the end of the project they got the work inspected (and i was given a copy of both inspections) they  backfilled and compacted the yard, reseed my yard and put hay on it, replaced my fence, re-poured the concrete sections, and install a clean out near the alley and a backwater preventer. My only complaints are that they left some of the materials in the yard from the dig- a fence post, and some lengths of concrete- which i am not strong enough to move, and some of my brick contained gardens were broken and dislodged- but it was very close to the active work cite where the fence met the cite, so i was pretty sure that they would be broken in the process already. All in all this project took about a week, and i was only without use of my toilet for half a day (what a relief!).
While this experience was incredibly stressful- for both my pocket book and myself, Underground Services First did a great job minimizing the stress, and kept on working until the job was done. They kept me informed of their progress, explained the processes, and were respectful and polite in my home. I would absolutely recommend them to any person facing a sewage replacement. I'm looking forward to seeing grass in the back yard again!

"Roger showed up at the time he estimated (called first to tell me he was on the way) and got right to work!
We have a floor drain that water comes up out of when there is a clog somewhere, and it goes all over the floor.
I have had many plumbers looking at the same problem as long as I have owned this house, they were never really sure what the problem was. The clog seems to be fixed when they leave, but slowly comes back. Roger tried snaking the pipes in the usual place, but it didn't seem to work. So, he asked if he could cut a pipe and try it from there. After a few tries, he got the clog, and told us how we could take care of it if it happened again. Which should be much easier to take care of, since we know where the problem area is.  If I ever need another plumber, I know who to call!

"Upon experiencing deficiencies in the cooling of my home over the summer, I had my heat pump inspected by a local HVAC service. They were contracted through my home warranty plan and I do not recall the company name. I was told that the system had just become "too old" and was not repairable. I began the process of soliciting quotes for replacement. I called a local "big" company who I won't name, but is well known through their TV advertising and locally flavored name. They sent out a representative who briefly opened the door to my crawlspace, then viewed and photographed my air handler without stepping inside. From this I received a quote for a brand new heat pump system. Two days later I called Automatic Climate Control to ask for a quote for comparison. Michael Snipes came out the next day, opened the door to the crawlspace and immediately saw a section of ductwork collapsed on the ground and broken open. He then entered the crawlspace and spent about 20-30 minutes evaluating the situation. He provided me with quotes to replace the system, but not before explaining to me that much of my cooling problems were due to the collapsed and open duct work. Inside that ductwork was considerable mold and other biohazards, which he had photographed and showed me. He suggested to me that I open a service request to have the system looked at again, even if I chose to have another company do this, before I decide to replace it. I did make a call for service that afternoon, and I requested Automatic Climate Control through my home warranty contract. Their technician came out the next day, found the duct work broken in three places and losing 80% of the conditioned air into the crawlspace. He also found that the blower motor was faulty and needed replacement. I had Automatic Climate Control replace the blower motor which was covered under warranty. I also had them replace the main trunk of duct work which had collapsed and was biologically contaminated, and clean my remaining duct work. This was all done promptly in a single day. I am happy to say that my home is cooler and cleaner smelling than it has been in years, thanks to Michael and ACC. They chose to do right by me and not just offer to replace a system at considerable cost, which I didn't need. I will look to them for all of my service needs in the future, and when it comes time to actually replace my aging heat pump, Automatic Climate Control will be doing the installation. They saved this customer thousands of dollars instead of selfishly lining their own pockets. Thank you so much!"

FAQs for drain clog or blockage clearing projects in Prince George, VA

Snaking a simple clog near a tub, toilet, or sink often takes about five minutes. Deeper blockages along the main line can stretch the job to a few hours because the pro must feed extra cable and may need a camera to confirm the pipe is clear. Either way, specialized tools help pros work quickly and keep your drains running for the long haul.

Aggressive snaking can scratch pipes, push debris deeper, or even crack older lines. That risk is low with an experienced plumber who matches the cable size to the pipe and eases the snake through bends instead of forcing it. If you’re unsure of your technique—or your pipes are already fragile—calling a licensed pro is the safest, and often cheapest, move.

Start with simple barriers: mesh screens on every tub, shower, and sink keep hair, food bits, and jewelry out of the pipes. Skip harsh chemicals; a monthly flush with hot (not boiling) water clears light buildup without damaging plastic lines. Finally, practice smart disposal—no grease, wipes, or kitty litter down the drain—and schedule routine cleanings if you have older plumbing.

Roto‑Rooter typically charges a flat $160 to $450 for standard snaking, which may include a quick sewer inspection and basic clean‑out. Exact pricing depends on the clog’s location and complexity. Repairs or part replacements fall outside that flat fee, so ask for a line‑item estimate if your tech spots broken pipe sections or recommends additional work.

Most liquid cleaners rely on caustic chemicals that eat through hair and grime—but they also erode metal and even some plastics over time. Repeated use strips protective pipe coatings and can leave you with leaks or premature failures. If hot water or a plunger doesn’t help, call a plumber for mechanical removal instead of pouring more chemicals down the line.
