We rely a great deal on the honesty, knowledge, professionalism, helpfulness of the individuals at the store and their reputation. We'll pay a tad more for a product/service when we're comfortable with the supplier. Here, Spicher's is well known and well respected in the area. Friends and neighbors gave them high marks. But, the sales rep we dealt with, Brent Phillips, made us want to do business with Spicher's. Originally we were quoted prices on the appliances we wanted BUT they were charging extra for hoses, cords, etc: the necessities that make those purchases work.. We strongly felt that these extra charges were "picky"; like buying a car and when you take delivery you discover that it comes with three wheels and the fourth is now an extra. <br /> That caused us to shop around and we found that there were other appliance dealers who included those "picky" add-ons and were also competitive on the appliances we wanted - one actually upgraded the washer and dryer, the stove top and the oven, the dishwasher and was still competitive. We shared our shopping with Brent and, in the end, we purchased everything from him and were satisfied that what we bought was competitively prices. Those "picky" add-ons were eliminated. <br /> Can't understand why any appliance dealer would expect the customer to pay extra for the electric cord so the customer is able to use the dryer he/she just bought. Or why there would be an extra charge for the discharge hose for the washer. We sincerely hope that Spicher's abandons those "picky" add-ons. <br /> Yes, we'll definitely do business Spicher's again and will highly recommend that you seek out Brent Phillips. Originally, Brent was at the Chambersburg store and then went to the Hagerstown store.
