"We had to put in a new ceiling in our garage due to storm damage. I hired a contractor for that work, but also had Steve come out to estimate the work involved with removing the existing garage door and assessing if the existing garage door opener could be repaired, or if it had to be replaced. When Steve was on site, he only needed a few minutes to diagnose the opener--it was dead and had to be replaced. He also gave a quick quote on the costs involved with removing and then reinstalling the existing garage (he indicated that a new door and railing was not needed). From that point forward, everything was a breeze. Steve was responsive to all communications / questions, performed quality work, and helped make sure to stick around to explain how our new garage door opener worked. Bad service providers can be a nightmare to deal with, but when you find a good one, it can be a pleasant experience--this was the case with Steve. Not only did Steve do the work that was agreed upon, he also took the opportunity to install new rollers on our garage door, which made our garage door opening and closing 100000X quieter. I am a satisfied customer and would highly recommend Fast Fix Garage Doors to my friends and family."

"We love our new garage door. It's the best-looking garage door in our neighborhood, bar none. Juan was wonderful. He took his time and did a splendid job. We also can't believe how quiet it is compared to our old door that made quite a racket, especially when opening it. We also got a new LiftMaster opener which Juan also installed flawlessly. It's a "Smart" opener so we can open & close the garage door with our smartphones. Plus the new garage door has insulation and Juan put a seal around the door so the garage will be warmer in winter and cooler in summer. We love it and the professionalism of Juan and the Plano Overhead Garage Door company."

"The customer service at Alamo Garage Doors is top-notch. I scheduled a weekend appointment to replace an old wooden door that had become unsafe. The crew was on time, polite, and very careful with the removal and installation. They made sure everything was aligned perfectly and tested the opener before leaving. My new door looks amazing."

"Project: Repair Disconnected Pulley Cable. Chris Blake was very Prompt, on time and completed the work without additional charges. My problem was one Cable coming off the Pulley causing the door to be uneven (not straight) and difficult to close. One side of the Door was rubbing against the Track causing it to not fully close. Chris corrected the problem, and even lubricated the wheels and repaired a minor track dent without additional charges. Good Job for a small Company that makes Texas a Great State to live. Highly recommend Blake and Sons. Gary B. in North Fort Worth (near Keller, TX)."

"They responded to my request on Angi.com within minutes and gave me a time frame for the technician to arrive. The technician (Mike) arrived near the beginning of the window and gave me a quote. Once we settled on the work to be done, he completed the work within an hour at the agreed price with no hidden charges. If I ever have any future problems with my garage door, (hopefully no time soon) I would definitely hire them again."

"Excellent service. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them if you need your garage door opener repaired. Clay replaced the springs and rollers and did a great job. He arrived when he said he would, gave me an estimate and completed the job promptly with a 2 year warranty. I couldn't be happier and will use and recommend BlackJax Garage Doors in the future."

FAQs for garage door opener installation and replacement projects in Princeton, TX

A chain-drive opener costs less, but it’s louder and needs more upkeep. If your budget allows, a belt-drive model is often the smarter long-term buy, especially for an attached garage with a bedroom above where noise matters. The decision between a chain or belt opener comes down to your budget and needs, and your garage door opener installer can help you choose an option that best suits you.

Choosing the right horsepower for your garage door opener is crucial for safe and efficient performance. Your garage door’s design and material determine the required horsepower. A single-car garage demands a half horsepower rating, while a two-car garage requires a rating between three-fourths and 1.25 horsepower. Selecting the proper power level ensures optimum performance and durability over the life of the opener.

Plan on a quick garage door tune-up once or twice a year. Tighten the chain or belt, lubricate moving parts, test the safety sensors, and swap out weak batteries in the remotes or backup unit. A few dollars in lubricant and 30 minutes of work can fend off costly repairs, keep the door running smoothly, and help the opener hit its full life expectancy.
