"Our first contact with Shelf Genie was at the Home Show at the Expo center.  The folks at the booth very polite and helpful with our questions.  We made an appointment for Charlie to come out and give us a proposal.   Charlie showed up on time for the appointment and spent a significant amount of time working with us to plan out what would work best in our kitchen.  He did not rush through anything and was extremely helpful.  He then priced out everything in an itemized format so we were able to pick and choose what was the best combination within out budget for the project.   There was no pressure to up sell or to get us to buy more.  It was simply left at if you ever want to do the other pieces, just give us a call.   The next step was for Mike (the installer) to come out and do measurements.   Mike showed up on time for the appointment, was professional and polite.   Once the shelving units were in and ready for install, Mike promptly contacted us to make the appointment to do the install.  He again showed up on time and did a fantastic and quick job of getting them installed.  He was helpful in making sure the cabinet shelving was placed exactly how we wanted it.   Overall we are extremely please with the end result.  The fact it was a hassle free and very professional job that was done only makes it better.   "

"Erik was hired to install IKEA cabinets in our home for a full kitchen renovation. I felt confident in assembling the cabinets and finishing them (doors, hardware, drawers, toe kicks, etc) but we wanted a professional to make sure the cabinets were hung level, plumb, and square. From our first conversation it was obvious that Erik is an expert in all things IKEA. He provided some guidance and changes to our design to make some subtle improvements that would not have been obvious to us. He also immediately identified a critical flaw in our design that would have greatly impacted the final outcome but luckily we had enough time to get the proper replaced item. Communication with Erik was decent but be prepared for patience with emails and texts. Phone calls seemed to be most effective. Also be prepared to be patient for his schedule. Despite our efforts to plan ahead and get on “his radar” back in July, it still took several rounds of calls and discussions to finally get a week nailed down and the arrival day wasn’t determined until the week-of. You will need to be flexible. The installation was very fast - he had all of the work completed in one day. He is also very precise and detailed. He took time to show me how cabinets were anchored to the wall, that cabinets were level and prepped for the countertop template. He also cleaned up nicely, was courteous in our home and has a professional demeanor. The installation wasn’t without issue though. He accidentally stepped on a weak piece of our corner cabinet and broke it. His solution was to “sister” a piece below it. I was told it wouldn’t affect the countertops as this had no load bearing properties and it won’t be visible once countertops are installed. I believe that he is correct, and accidents happen, but it was disappointing as mishaps was something I wanted to avoid and large reason why we elected to hire someone rather than do the installation ourselves. No adjustment was made to the agreed upon price to account for the broken cabinet which I felt would have been the appropriate thing to do even it was a minor reduction. Overall, I would hire Erik again and be better prepared to be patient and clearly a communicate my expectations. He is precise, detailed, and very knowledgeable on IKEA systems. His involvement resulted in a nice overall outcome."
