"Precision Overhead Garage Door Service was very responsive on getting a technician to my home same day I called. I called at about 9:00 am, and Richard arrived at noon. I knew what the problem was, based on past experience. On the screw drive garage door opener, sometimes the teeth on the trolley part eventually wear down and are no longer able to lift the door open. I described the problem over the phone to Richard, and after inspecting the operation of the door, he assessed the problem was a weak/failing spring. He indicated the door felt very heavy to lift by hand with the opener trolley disengaged. He suggested replacing the 6 year old heavy duty spring, but I requested that he instead properly adjust the tension of the spring instead. Much less expensive alternative to swapping out an entire spring assembly. Giving generous mostly 'B' grades because of this, 'A' for responsiveness. Would have been higher if he had presented the adjustment option to me first, rather than me having to ask for it myself."
