"We had a sugar ants problem that we tried several remedies to eliminate with no success. Arkadia applied safe pest control treatments inside and around the perimeter of our home which is a concern since we have pets. No ants have returned.

Jennifer set up an initial appointment within a day, understanding our concerns and was very understanding on getting someone out ASAP. I would highly recommend Jersey Pest and Animal Control, LLC."

"It is early in the one year contract and the specific pest treatments covered are largely seasonal. Two visits have been made so far including treatments for cave crickets and ants as well as a general diagnostic of infestations. The ant treatment resulted in seeing none in the house which never happened in previous years when no treatments were made. Same with the cave crickets."

"We inherited a bird/bat/squirrel problem in our attic from the previous homeowners and it drove us crazy to hear scurrying noises above us at night. We contacted Above and Beyond Pest Control and Alex responded very quickly. Within a couple of days, he was able to visit and assess our situation to figure out what we needed to get any nested birds and attic dwelling squirrels out of our attic. He replaced an old one way door that was ineffective with his own, patched up any small holes that birds were getting into and returned after 10 days to remove the door and patch it up. Alex and his crew were very professional, honest and hard working. Don't hesitate to call them up if you have any pest control issues."

"On a Sunday morning we heard a sound in our fireplace flue. Apparently a squirrel had fallen down our chimney (there was a cap but no screen) and was stuck. I called a few “wildlife services” that were open on Sundays and none dealt with catching a squirrel; only places that would set traps. One man wanted $300 to open flue and let the squirrel run out the front door. That was not a solution for us. I called a few places on Monday morning and the first to return call was Philadelphia Wildlife Removal. They are apparently a referral service because they said a person would return call. I then heard from Tom M. who works for Conserv Pest & Wildlife Service. He said the price was $199. He was here by 1pm and came on time. He attempted to entice the squirrel into a bucket. The squirrel was not going to move. Plan B was to drop a cord down the chimney with bait and the squirrel would probably go up the rope and out of chimney. He used our neighbor’s roof to get to the chimney . He said to listen the next day. I did and heard no sound. I assumed the squirrel left. I then opened the flue to release the cord and the DEAD squirrel dropped out. I removed him with barbeque tools and discarded him (poor squirrel). Tom was great though and worked for quite a while trying o entice him. The price was fixed so if he had to climb on roof or come back again, it was included. He even offered to put in a screen. I had his cell # and he was accessible. So I can recommend Tom and his company. The direct # to Tom is: 908-310-5355. He covers Philadelphia and south and Central New Jersey."

"The exterminator showed up a bit late, but he was kind enough to call ahead and say he was going to be a bit late. He showed up with all the necessary materials. He engaged in a conversation to figure out the situation. And, then he got to work. He thoroughly vacuumed all areas in question, including inside a box spring. He did everything necessary to pretty much guarantee that the bugs (not bedbugs) would be gone within a few days. The last thing he did was spray the place."

FAQs for small animal pest control service projects in Randolph, NJ

Self-removal attempts using store-bought traps can cost $50, but require personal time investment and knowledge of proper handling techniques. While DIY methods might work for isolated cases, professionals bring expertise in identifying all entry points, implementing effective deterrents, and safely handling wildlife.

Consider your comfort level with wildlife management and the potential health risks—armadillos can carry disease—before deciding between professional services or personal intervention.

Most homeowners see initial results within two to five days after professional trap placement, particularly with single-animal situations. However, multiple factors can extend this timeline, including the number of animals present, weather conditions affecting activity patterns, and the complexity of your property layout.

Properties with established armadillo populations might require one to two weeks of active trapping. Discuss realistic timeframes with your wildlife specialist during the initial consultation to set appropriate expectations.

Filling and repairing burrows adds $75 to $110 per hole to your total project cost. While some comprehensive service packages include minor repairs, extensive landscape restoration requires a separate payment.

These repair costs cover materials like topsoil, sod, or concrete patching compounds, plus the labor to properly restore the damaged areas. Before finalizing any service agreement, clarify exactly which repair services are included and which will incur additional charges.

While armadillos remain active throughout the year in many regions, scheduling removal during less busy seasons for wildlife control companies might secure slightly better rates. Fall and winter months often see reduced demand for these services, potentially offering more scheduling flexibility and competitive pricing.

However, the most cost-effective approach is addressing armadillo issues promptly when first noticed, regardless of season, as delaying can lead to more extensive damage and higher ultimate costs.
