Tom sent me a link for the replacement part and explained how to install it. He even gave me a helpful tip for how to clean my oven’s glass window. I was able to replace the part easily using Tom’s instructions. I am very satisfied with the repair and with the help I got from Tom."

"Very pleased. I requested service through Angie's List on a Friday night from a number of companies. Affordable Appliance called me on Saturday and scheduled a technician for Monday. They came on Monday and diagnosed the issue quickly. Unfortunately the needed part is discontinued. I really appreciated that the technician seemed bummed that he couldn't fix it for us."

When they came out they told me the compressor needed replacing in the refrigerator and it would cost $800.00

plus labor. They also told me I needed 4 new igniters for my gas stove burners. I was quoted a price of $20.00 - $30.00

per igniter plus labor. It cost me $89.00 for the estimate on 8-31-2015. I was told they would contact me when the parts

came in .They came back on 9-16-2015 to repair the burners. I had been expecting a quicker return date. I don't see why it took over two weeks to get 4 igniters. The igniters were replaced quickly and I was charged $181.25 for parts and labor. It seemed to me to be a little on the high side but I didn't question it at the time. When I looked at the receipt later to figure out how much I was charged  for parts vs. labor the receipt was not itemized so I could not tell. My main complaint is that less than two weeks later on

9-27-2015 one of the burners failed to lite again. I would not expect that to happen. I will

have to contact them and hope I don't get charged again to come back out and look at it again. If I do get charged for another house call I will not be using them again.

"When I called Christopher he responded very positively, thanked me for calling, and said that he could come to my house at about 1 pm on the same day. He later called to say he had to change the time to somewhere between 2 and 3 pm. At about 2:30 he called to let me know that he was on his way. He arrived at my house at about 2:45 with his tool bag in hand. Chris was very friendly and upbeat. He went straight to work; pulled the back plates off the refrigerator. After a few minutes he said, "Well I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that the compressor is failing and will probably last only a few more days. The good news is, since it would cost over $400.00 to put a replacement compressor in this unit, you really should be looking at buying a brand new refrigerator. In the long run this will actually be more economically sound than fixing your old one." Chis then went to explain  how current refrigerators are much more efficient than the older models. He even went to far as to go online on his smartphone to try to price refrigerators similar to my old one. He was very thorough and offered options available at used and new outlets.
He let me know that the price for his service call  was $60.00 and that it is about half what other appliance repair shops charge to come to your home.  I was pleased to pay the price for his expertise, honesty, and good advice. 
The main take away is that Chris Gallagher is honest, professional, experienced and, I believe, one who can be trusted to have his customers' best interests at heart. I recommend him enthusiastically.

"We contacted United Remodeling back in 2013 for a price quote on a roof deck we wanted installed above our unit. Junior was sent over from United and was warm, professional and on time. He got us a quote within the 48 hours he promised and the rate seemed fair compared to others we were getting. We narrowed the quotes down and decided to go with United.







We ran into a little entitlement issue with our neighbor who decided to sue us and the condo board for additional deck space so United was put on hold. We thought we had the issue put to bed in early 2014 so we had Junior come by once again to sign the contract. We paid our deposit, but then another neighbor issue came up and United was on hold yet again.







Flash forward to April 2015 and we were back in business. My point with the information above is that United stayed with us and supported us during the unnecessary lawsuit. A testament to their character. Alessandro (the owner) knew that this was going to be a tricky job given the sensitive nature of all things surrounding the 2 deeded roof spaces and was a consummate professional. He took on this project personally. His team took ultra care of the roof membrane, the flashing, the utility box and everything else that was on the roof during construction. The framing was installed in 5 days! The IPE tiles were in soon after and the wrought iron not terribly long after that. There were NO surprises or added cost with this job.







A member of his crew, Giovanni, used his mad carpentry skills to add stability to an extra long length of fencing to ensure safety and compliance with code.







We recommended United to several others who hired Alessandro and his team for other work in the South End. Our deck is awesome thanks to the diligence of his team. :)
