"I came home from work to find our 40-gallon water heater was not working (it was working that morning). The pilot was out and I could not get it re-lit (I do know how to light a pilot) After checking a number of companies on Angie's List, I contacted DB's Plumbing and Drain. Although it was almost 6pm, a very nice person answered the phone and I explained my dilemma. I was told they could send someone that night but would have to charge an after-hours rate. I was reasonably certain what was wrong would not be a simple fix like re-lighting a pilot so scheduled a visit for the following morning between 10 am and 12 noon. Michael D arrived shortly after 10 am. He was very courteous, polite and professional. Before entering my home, he donned a pair of shoe covers which was kept on as long as he was in the house. He diagnosed the problem as being a failed main burner system. As the water heater was 14-years-old, I weighed the cost of replacing just the main burner system on such an old unit against replacing the unit itself. I opted for the water heater replacement. Michael setup the old unit to drain while he went to retrieve the new one from their warehouse which took him about 45 minutes. Upon his return, he removed the old unit and cleaned up the area. He then cut back the existing copper lines to eliminate the numerous soldered couplings from the previous homeowner's repairs. He installed new copper pipes including a new quarter turn shut-off valve. A catch pan was placed and the water heater setup in it. Up reconnecting the gas line, he installed a sediment trap or drip leg (it did not have one previously) which catches sediment sometimes present in natural gas. After bringing the system online, Michael checked the gas line connections for leaks using a detection monitor. The installation was clean and neat and it is obvious Michael is conscientious about his work. Always interested in how things in my home work, Michael was very gracious in answering my questions regarding the installation. I am very happy with the install.and would like to thank Michael for his professionalism and the education."

"Our home is about 9 years old and we were quite shocked to have a leak in our main water supply line coming from the street to our home. We contacted several plumbers and listened to their approach as to how they were going to determine where the leak was coming from and whether they were going to repair a section or replace the entire water supply line. After meeting with the different plumbing contractors, we learned different methods of running a new water main line since it appeared that we would need it. We received new pieces of information from each proposal. We did not like living without water, however; since it was a big financial commitment, we did not want to be pressured or feel rushed into making a quick decision. We hired him on the spot. We had lower estimates for the repair. Most people would have used his confidence of a repair and gone with the cheaper proposal; however, we knew that we would incur additional expenses to repair/replace our landscaping, lawn, underground sprinkler system, and walkway. In the end, if we chose the cheaper proposal, it perhaps would have cost us the same, if not more. It may have felt better to spend less upfront, but, in the long run, it was far better to hire the RIGHT person would do the RIGHT job from start to finish. It was wonderful to see our property taken care of with such pride, as if it were theirs. Our grass was restored perfectly and they even did a repair on our sprinkler line. They left our walkway, landscaping, lawn, and underground sprinkler system intact. Not only did they do a perfect job for us, they had respect for the BAY and cleaning up the debris so it wouldn’t wash into the sewer system. Sometimes you pay a little more up front, but it saves aggravation and additional unexpected expenses in the end. Separately every plumber submitted a proposal for a continuous running sump pump. Every proposal recommended that we needed to replace the sump pump. However, Mahon Plumbing suggested that it might only need to be repaired. Only the backflow valve needed to be replaced. Again, Mahon Plumbing’s approach was correct! A special thanks to everyone at Mahon Plumbing for performing perfect workmanship. "I worked with Prince William Plumbing to have the leak in our main water line on our front yard repaired. They are honest, affordable, reliable, punctual and professional. We have been completely satisfied with our decision. John came to our house the same day I called in and gave us a quote. Instead of trying to convince us replacing the whole water line, he said a repair should be enough. He offered us a 5 year warranty. Most important of all, his price was much more affordable than others. It was almost too good to be true. He honored 5% Angie’s List customer coupon on the top of that. John has done the repair with his assistant. They answered all my questions patiently. They cleaned up the area nicely after the job is done. John is very experienced. "Tiny leak in the pipes under the sink, but because a previous plumber had glued everything, I had to cut out and replace the PVC pipes under the kitchen sink to enable the repair. The whole system under the twin sinks was cut out and replaced for $325. Walter did a great job and the boss, Reid, stayed in touch to ensure a job well done. More than I wanted to spend, but at least now I have a brand new system of pipes professionally installed. Highly recommend as timely, customer service focused, and professional high quality work. "The technicians were friendly and knowledgeable. The end product was excellent. The office was professional (mostly). The price seemed fair, but I would venture a guess that I could find cheaper, but I wanted a quality installation. I can confirm I found competition that was much more expensive. The only issue I had was scheduling both the quote and the work. In this case we needed both an electrician and plumbers complicating the situation. We scheduled both disciplines to quote on the same day. The electrician missed the window and had to come the next day. For the work to be performed, we again scheduled for a single day process but due to illness apparently had to reschedule for the following day. At that point, I complained to the office due to the inconvenience of taking 4 days out of the office for a 2 day job, looking for a little price reduction. The office manager I spoke to was more interested in defending their position than seeing my side. In the end he granted me a $50 online coupon, reduction yes, but I'm not sure why I wouldn't have been entitled to that regardless. Honestly, in the end I was happy and would hire again due to the quality of work, reasonable price and professionalism in general. They would have received high marks across the board if it wasn't for the scheduling issues. I hope that was just bad coincidence."

"Clearwater provided excellent service and we are very satisfied! However, I asked why they didn't have any reviews, I learned they've been around for quite a few years, but just joined in with HomeAdvisor, so I think we're their first review. We had a leak in our main water line by the meter (just before our relatives were due to arrive for the holidays). Needing to get it fixed right away, we asked for quotes from 4 Home Advisor professionals. Nate and his team responded promptly to our request and came out within a couple hours provide an estimate. Clearwater was the only estimate that didn't involve tearing up the sidewalk and was very fair and competitive. In the end, they were able to make repairs at the valve (working in tight spaces) without needing to replace significant lengths of pipe, thus the final bill was well under the original estimate. Most of the other services really pushed for replacing the entire line. Clearwater, while cautioning us that was a possibility, they preferred to see what they found so they could make a recommendation accordingly. Fair, honest, and the only surprise with the bill was being way less than expected."

The tech swiftly (nice) quoted us (with the best price we received out of 5 quotes) and started working immediately. He walked us through the steps, stayed until he was comfortable with the result, and was extremely professional throughout the whole process. Would refer to them again for any plumbing needs."
