After reading Watry Homes reviews on this site, we contacted them in March. I had reached the point where I no longer wanted to maintain the house, and after researching siding options and speaking to other home owners, was seeking a contractor to install what I believed was the best siding solution, Hardy Plank. It was our intention to have the work done before the summer months, to avoid the disruption and scheduling conflicts which inevitably happen in high season.

Scott Watry came out and inspected/measured the house on March 17, presented window options and gave an overview of the process. Within a week we had an estimate and we gave him the commitment assuming the work would begin as soon as materials were received within a few weeks. The project did not get underway, however, until June 4th, the day I was leaving for two weeks of travel. My wife provided daily updates in my absence, and glowing reviews of Scott's workers, specifically, Paul and Rob who came in and installed the windows and doors. I met these guys later and they are true professionals who pay close attention to detail. The siders were also efficient and meticulous in their work, and cleaned up every day. The crew had a few guys, but Roberto, who appeared to be their lead, was very responsive to every question or request, and went out of his way to be accommodating. Splattered paint on a portion of our patio and sill appeared to be their only misstep.

In the end, we have a job that met our expectations in terms of quality, fit and finish. It was the punch list of several small items and requests which was emailed to Scott in mid-June that made the final conclusion of the project a little rocky. It turned out that part of the roof over our den did not receive adequate flashing necessary to prevent a leak that ensued after five days of rain. Scott insisted that it was the result of layers of caulk installed by someone else, inadequately sealing an inside corner of the roof. Dan, who was sent out later to make the repair, said the caulk and sealing had been done by their siders, and was still wet. Scott agreed to place a drywall patch in the interior ceiling where there was water damage, but I spent the better part of a day painting the ceiling, trim and walls to original condition once this was done. This put a damper on an otherwise great experience with Watry.

We totally respect Watry's workers and the diligence they exemplified every day. My feelings about Scott with him not taking ownership of the leak and the damage it caused was unfortunate because it would have been so easy to simply do so without casting blame on others. I also feel it would have been appropriate to personally stop by at the project's conclusion (today), to ensure he had a satisfied customer. As it was, he called and asked me to give a check for final payment to his worker before he left, without asking me if I was completely satisfied. In my view, the size and scope of our project would dictate that he do so. 

However, I would not be hesitant to recommend them as a reference primarily because of his crews.

"After three years of living in our remodeled home, my sister
and I began experiencing water seepage in three different locations in our
finished basement. Rather than let the problem get out of hand, we decided to
repair it. We contacted three different companies for repair estimates.
 
Following one outrageous estimate from a big name company and
one reasonable estimate from another company, Brian Flanagan of Basement
Waterproofing Solutions was the third person to visit our home. We were
immediately impressed with his knowledge. He provided us with an honest
assessment of what he believed was causing our seepage problem - foundation
cracks around our basement windows. To solve our seepage issues, Brian suggested
cutting through the drywall in our basement and sealing the cracks in two of
the three locations where we had water seepage. He told us that we would be
responsible for having the drywall repaired after the work was completed. In
the third location, rather than cut through the drywall, Brian believed the
crack could be sealed from the exterior of our home. He explained that this solution
would be less destructive because the drywall wouldn?t need to be cut open,
which would also save us money. My sister and I appreciated Brian?s willingness
to suggest the most cost-effective solutions for our home. Unlike the big name
company that came to our house, he didn?t try to scare us into paying for expensive
solutions that were well beyond the scope of our needs.
 
Brian quoted us a price of $700 to repair three foundation
cracks as well as any additional cracks
found during the repair process. He even stated that he would have his crew
seal the exterior of our home in several places to prevent water penetration. We
were impressed with the fact that he put this all in writing. His price was the
lowest estimate we received and even included an Angie?s List coupon that Brian
gave us himself. After considering the cost, Brian?s expertise,
professionalism, and the hassle-free solution he offered, we decided to give
him the job.
 
Brian?s crew was scheduled to come
out the following Saturday, but he called the night before to say that the crew
could not come due to one worker having a family emergency. I informed Brian
that I was displeased with the last-minute notice. In an effort to apologize
for the inconvenience, he stated that he would have his crew come out the
following week. He also said that he would have them repair the drywall at no
additional cost to us. We thought this was a wonderful deal and demonstrative
of Brian?s willingness to go beyond the call of duty to satisfy his customers.
 
One week later, two workers
promptly arrived as scheduled. They went over the work to be done and asked us
if we had any questions.  We answered no,
and they began working. The workers were courteous and professional as well. Before
they finished, Brian showed up to inspect the work and make sure we were
pleased with everything.  We expressed
our satisfaction, and the men finished up. They cleaned up after themselves as
well.  As promised, the workers returned
a few days later to repair the drywall. They replaced and sanded it at no cost
to us.
 
We really appreciated the care Brian
and his workers took in addressing our seepage issues and making sure that we
were pleased with their work. We waited to write a review until we had some
rain. We haven?t had any more problems thus far. Only time and heavier
rainstorms will let us know if we are in the clear. However, Brian told us to call
if we have any more problems. He stands by his work and we have no doubt that
he will work hard to resolve any future issues should they arise. We appreciate
Brian Flanagan?s honesty, expertise and professionalism. We would highly
recommend Basement Waterproofing Solutions to anyone who needs quality work

"I have worked with contractors in the past but, never had such kind, courteous, punctual, and patient young men as Jovon and Jeremy. They worked with me on the situation I was in. My neighbor was going to install my storm door for free but he ended up in a cast due to a work injury. So now I'm stuck. I contact Angi to get some Quotes. Jovon set up the appointment. "Generally well overall. Unfortunately, the weather (early spring) put off the date for the final paving over the outside drain tile. There was also an area along the basement wall for which they didn't install the seepage material (no explanation why). The team broke one basement window, reported to the manager that I had approved replacing ALL the windows with glass block ($200 each for 5 windows). I explained that I had not spoken with them at all, and I'd be willing to replace the ONE broken window. They replaced two. At no extra charge to me. I felt as though it was my responsibility to nag (when will you be able to finish? what's going on with the outdoor work?), when that should be the priority of the business... keeping me informed about what's going on. Finally, when moving appliances, they destroyed my washing machine (cracked a cement part so it couldn't be repaired). I wasn't aware this had occurred until after the fact. I complained but have had no response. Despite the carelessness and unresponsiveness, that basement is dry as a bone. Can't complain on that note. I marked that I would hire again... slightly unsure about that. I'd like to think there's a perfect company out there that would contact me up-front about when work stops or will continue, or when they break something. Otherwise, the foundation work + sump pump install was superb."

Down to earth individuals who did really great work! we were caught by surprise at the water damage and mold that had occurred ( from a leak in the dishwasher), Chris did a wonderful assessment, told us all the steps and gave us a very fair price. He noted further improvements to be done with the lighting (previous improper installation) and need for access panel (for wiring of our dehumidifier) : and he took care of it!! (also took care of an extra "ding" in the drywall in a nearby closet) when they did their work, everything was taped off professionally and sealed, all tile and appliances protected. I was very impressed and it was such a relief to see their professional workmanship for this stressful time. They came multiple days (over a few weeks), texted/called my husband with updates on days in-between treatment and were respectful of our house and time.
