"My husband and I came across 7th State Builders online. Eddie came out to our home for our initial consultation. He was punctual and professional. He listened to our vision and took the time to draw out a plan and explain the process. He was very knowledgeable and made some great suggestions. We decided to do a big project at our home. For the back: a rebuild and waterproofing of our previous deck and a large patio to go underneath it with a fire pit and sitting wall. The front of our house needed some repairs so we had them redo our sidewalk in the same patio pavers from the back. The whole area in front of our garage was cut out and they put in new concrete and leveled it out. They rerouted our gutters to prevent flooding as the previous design was doing damage to our foundation. The owner, Chase, was very hands on and kept us updated the whole time. He frequently made sure we were happy with the way things were going. The whole team made this project an enjoyable experience. Iâ ll admit, my husband and I can sometimes be difficult people to please-But wow!! They really knocked it out of the park for us! 7th Stateâ s precision and talent is unmatched. "The owner was very comfortable to talk to about the water leaking problem in the basement. He did a great job explaining how the job to prevent future leaks would be completed. His brother managed the crew when the job started. It went very smoothly. The team had 4 men and finished the job in only 2 days. The system has kept my basement dry through summer down pours and the most recent snow melt. No water leaks. Everyone was very courteous and efficient. I am very happy with the service.

"I have a 28 year old asphalt driveway that needed to be resurfaced. He was prompt providing a quote at a fair price compared to three others. His crew did one day of prep work consisting of digging out crumbled/cracked areas and edging the entire 300' driveway. The next day they applied 2" of asphalt and did a perfect job with great attention to detail. Then they cleaned up the whole area and it looks great. "I had used Glenn many years ago for some masonry repairs and called him again for this project as I lost his number but I was elated to find his information on Angie's list. He came over very promptly after calling him and gave me written estimate detailing all the work to be performed. My front and back stoops and walk way renovation was a project I had put off for a long time, mostly from the dread of finding a quality mason contractor to do the job since I lost his number from before. Glenn kept me in the loop for the entire project and asked for my input along the way. They cleaned up the area around where the work was performed. Glenn was prompt and always called me every morning to tell me when to expect him, he was knowledgeable, personable and professional and I could go on and on! He and his crew finished the premium flagstone stoops and walkway exactly as designed ahead of the time he told me and strives for customer satisfaction as evidenced with his qualuty work. I can't think of any way this job could have been completed in a more professional manner or with a better company. Should I have need of a masonry contractor in the future, I will definitely call J & G Masonry as I was so very happy with the work performed. "Contacted Jimi at Mailbox Express (of Northern Virginia) and he took the time to explain different mailbox post models, colors, and numbering options. Coordinated a timely date for installation and the day of Jimi texted me his enroute status and arrived on time. He painted post (selected brown) on site. Mailbox itself was extra large and of quality, high grade material and construction. Concrete at base was used to ensure long-term fixture and metal address numbers were painted (recommended silver on dark colored post) and nailed to flag side of post; also, adhesive / sticker style address numbers were placed on front of mailbox. Entire job took less than an hour. Overall, Jimi was extremely nice and his workmanship and attention to detail (e.g., paint, number symmetry, and post leveling, etc.) was truly outstanding! As a retired military officer, I can say without reservation that if you are in need of a new mailbox with post, you can’t go wrong hiring Jimi at Mailbox Express - thank you Jimi!"

"Things were going quite well until I inquired about bagging excess grass that lay on the lawn and flower beds after the job was done. I was then told that it would cost an extra $3.00 weekly to bag grass. I decided to rake up the excess instead (saving money for me). I thought the grass was being cut too low; therefore,  I then inquired about mower blade height and was told it would cost an extra $4.98 weekly to raise or lower the blade. I have been a homeowner for longer than the provider is old, have had several lawn companies attend my lawns and have never, ever, heard of such a thing....from any company.
The provider simply wrote, "If I did not charge every customer the labor to change blades or lower, or raise them I would be loosing every job. If I did not charge to bag I will be loosing with dump fees labor fees. Eventually it will add up. Please understand ." He said it would take an extra 10 minutes to adjust blades. The county waste dump is within 5 miles.
Needless to say, his services were terminated.  What started out as a $25 weekly fee would have increased to $31.92 weekly and $131.92 monthly  instead of $100 monthly per 4 weeks  had I accepted the provider's proposal.
 Mind you, clipping hedges and general lawn work was not included....just mowing. Oh, after the family mulched the flower beds, the provider's crew blew grass clippings in the beds atop the mulch. Yes, I did mention this to the provider and the blowing continued. I was simply  not satisfied. Perhaps someone else might like the additions, but not us. My neighbor, I think, uses their services and might be satisfied. I did not inquire.
