"Chad is the owner and he did the work himself. His estimated were reasonable and he had good grades on Angies list. I hired him to complete several odd jobs and he was punctual and the work performed was exceptional. I will hire again when needed."

"Arrived at 8:00AM - right on time. Work completed by 2:00PM by a crew of three. Cost of project about half that of the other two quotes I received. They accommodated my request to change from 16" to 12" centerlines on the deck joists - at no additional cost. They also put the footings in at the locations I wanted. Darren consulted with me on the actual final dimensions of the deck to make sure we were on the same page and there were no surprises. Darren also expedited railing fabrication by the supplier so that the deck could be completed sooner than promised. Azek decking was used - a solid plastic material material - to avoid problems attributed to the wood fiber content found in composite decking materials.

"

"Talked to Neil on the phone the night before, he said he was looking forward to doing the work...very good sign I had a winner! Neil got there about 5 minutes before he was supposed to be there. He asked me what I wanted to do first, which was the gutters. He got right to work, cleaning and then putting on the gutter caps. He mitered the corners of the gutter caps also, making it a very neat appearance! I was concerned about the downspouts being clear and he made sure downspouts worked. I gave him a list for the rest of the things and right down the line he did them: re-attached mailbox to pole, installed bird feeder pole, hung 2 pictures, replaced furnace filter, replaced water filter in basement, replaced broken toilet seat, fixed pull out drawer in kitchen, took out middle console on front seat of car & replaced with another console. I gingerly asked him if he would/could do them, but he did not refuse anything I asked him to fix, knew how!! Neil was amazing! There wasn't anything he could not do that I asked,
he was very courteous, listened to what I needed. I gave him the things to replace, but had supplies I didn't have (i.e. wall anchors, etc). He also was very reasonable, I was happy, and he was worth every penny!!
I even gave him an electric scooter that needed a tune up to take home and look at, he will look at it and give me an estimate on repairs.

"

"They arrived right on time and worked around the carpet cleaners and adjusted their order of carpet install to accommodate that. They then moved upstairs and the work they did looks terrific. HJ Martin were the original carpet and tile layers when we built our home."

"This father and son team are the best!. I live in an older home (57 yrs.) and discovered Smith Construction and Remodeling in 2008 when I had bad leaking of water into my basement laundryroom. I chose the Beaver System as it was more affordable than complete draintile repair and had a good reputation. The company contracted with Smith Construction and a work relationship was born. Since that time I've utilized them for a new deck, privacy fence instillation, repair of foundation wall crack, instillation of downspout "bubblers" ( this is an underground pipe system that channels gutter runoff away from house and pops a heavy plastic bubbler to empty it into the yard - no downspout extenders to move and mow around! ) the summer of 2011. Even with extreme heat and rain they preservered. Part of the fence was put together in my garage during a rainstorm so a work day would not be lost! These two men work quickly and efficiently, my garage was cleaner when they left than when they started( she says with face reddening). The project April 14,2012 was done on a Saturday because a series of rain storms were predicted and John and his dad wanted to make sure the room where the continuation of the Beaver System would stay dry. Not alot of contractors would work a Saturday for a client's convenience. I would highly reccommend this company to anyone needing construction, remodeling, waterproofing, and home repair. Thank you."

"Worked within our short timeline. Suggested adding an outlet - which we did not realize would be needed. Final appearance makes it seem it was built that way. Fast, professional, reasonably priced. Considering future work with this provider - roofing and kitchen remodel.
"

"From first contact, through completion, the folks at Reetz did a great job with our deck project.

When we first contacted Reetz, and several other contractors, Reetz came out fairly quickly; at a time convenient for us, not just them. They asked good questions about what we needed, took measurements, gave us an approximate range based on the types of materials to be used (either wood or composite). Once we decided on the material (in this case composite to match more closely with our house and the style we were looking for), they provided us a written/email with the estimate.

Once work began, and as I'd mentioned to them, the ground was very difficult to dig footing holes because of all the rock/limestone in the area. What would typically take an hour or two took an entire day with auger and tools. No additional cost was added on for the extra time/hassle.

As they started to take off some of our siding on the house to connect the deck to the house and around the patio door, they noticed some wood rot because the installers of the windows (years ago) didn't do a good job. Reetz asked if we'd like them to remove all the siding around the patio door and windows in the area and we said it should be done while they're here. They found some rot, took care of replacing the wood, properly sealed and flashed the windows, door, etc. and put siding back up. Only increased cost a few dollars (and done timely without be needing to find another contractor).

With the deck nearing completion, we discussed with Reetz the possibility of adding a step all the way around the deck because our yard slightly sloped away from the deck and the deck's main level was a little high for my wife and perhaps older visitors to comfortably step up or down without a stumble. The height wasn't an issue for me, but for some of the folks who would use the deck when they visit, we thought a step around the circumference was a best choice. Reetz quickly designed the step to be a part of the deck, brought in a little fill to level the ground and made a seamless step/transition to help smaller or older folks easily step up or down onto the deck.

Additional cost was in line with what we'd expect and the work was exquisite.

Each day, throughout the work, Reetz cleaned up after themselves, asked if we needed assistance moving anything or getting rid of the big rock or two they had to take out of the footing holes, etc. They communicated well, and were easy to work with.

When we begin our next project, Otto and Jeremy will be getting a call from us.
"
