I reached out to them to install a joist support system under my kitchen so that I can renovate this year. There were floor joists under the back door that had been cut during a renovation about 30 years ago. JES installed a jack system but then left my foundation under the door where you can literally see daylight from the basement. I brought this up to the crew before they left late Friday night (they worked long hours just to ?finish? without even asking me if it was okay to trap me at home that late), and the lead just shrugged at me. Shortly after they left, it rained, and sure enough, water poured into my electrical room and all over the freshly poured concrete. I called Friday night, sent an email and text with videos, and called today 3 times. Each time the ?production manager? is ?busy.? Before this, they were perfectly capable of blowing up my phone to see if I could schedule sooner."

"I called several companies to get pricing on a 24x18 concrete patio, and Paul was the first one to call me back and the first one to come out to do a site visit. He was courteous and professional during the entire process, and never attempted to pressure me into upgrading or getting something I didn't need. When it came time to schedule the pour, Paul was able to fit us in very quickly, and even when there was a delay due to his concrete supplier being backlogged because of a rain delay, it only resulted in a one-day delay, and Paul was upfront and in touch the entire time. On the day of the pour, Juan Carlos and his team were scheduled to show up at 7:00am, but showed up about 20 minutes early, which is better than 20 minutes late! He and his team quickly got to work prepping the area, and by 12:00 they had completely finished the project, cleaned up the area, and had left house/yard/driveway in the same shape as before the arrived. The only difference was the beautiful new patio! Probably the best part for me was the personal visit from Paul afterwards to inspect the work. Based on my experience, I would whole-heartedly recommend Paul and his team from Maryland Curbscape to anyone looking to get concrete work done. Mudjacking and foam jacking differ significantly in both materials and methods. Mudjacking uses a cement-based slurry to fill voids beneath a slab, while foam jacking uses expanding polyurethane foam delivered under high pressure to achieve superior structural support. Mudjacking takes between one and three days to dry completely. During this time, it's important to avoid putting weight on the slab until it's fully cured. The drying time depends on the project size and environmental conditions. In contrast, polyurethane foam used in foam jacking can cure in as little as one hour.
No, mudjacking is not a permanent fix for sinking concrete. While it effectively lifts the slab and can last five to 10 years, it doesn't address underlying soil issues that may cause future sinking. For a more permanent solution, you might consider foam jacking or complete slab replacement, which can address deeper structural problems.
