"I live in a Chicago bungalow notorious for basement floods with heavy rains. After about four floods I did some in depth research on how to permanently fix the problem without tearing my basement apart. Some homeowners have the check valve/pump installed just outside the home. However I didn't want a manhole cover in front of the house and about $100 annually to service. I ended up with a Tramco flood control system with a lift station which was installed in the floor of my basement so no worries about the system freezing. I also had the sewer lined from my house out to the street. Yes it was expensive but I haven't had a drop of water in 5 years. VERY happy with the work and results. No more panic attacks every time it rains."
