"Mark is not only knowledgeable, but very easy to talk to. I am not very knowledgeable <br />on the computer. He had a great deal of patience with me. He got rid of a lot of useless information, and helped me access what I needed. He let me know the charges after I has used my initial time and explained all the charges up front. He told me if I had any issues or did not understand something to call him back. I did have somethings I did not understand and after calling him back and talking them through I decided the best thing to do is buy a new computer as mine is extremely out of date and does not suit my needs. Mark does not sell computers, but took the time to tell me based on my usage and needs, what I should buy. He did all this at no charge and even told me that I could call him if I had questions when purchasing the machine. "Don't be put off by the organized insanity in the shop.  <br /> If you are looking to repair or purchase refurbished computer equipment, I heartily recommend Startec.  In the last year, I have purchased a high end Dell Workstation, 25" monitors and a laptop.  A colleague bought a high end HP workstation.  All of the gear is cleaned up, checked out, and has worked great. <br /> The core of the business, for me, is the easy availability of good, clean, business grade computer equipment that has been procured from the off-lease market.  For my money, these systems may not have the gee-whiz coolest processors and video cards, but: 1) they work.  2) You can get parts for them.  3) they typically out last the "consumer" equipment that you buy at the same time.  <br /> The proprietor and staff know their stuff and will help you make a decision or guide you to solutions that you may not have thought of. <br />"

"Donna called me at the agreed upon time and we talked to find out the problems.  She immediately scanned the computer (she was on remote), saw the problems and proceeded to work through each one.  There were times when I was not on the computer with her while she worked. I am not a computer whiz so she explained what she was doing and why it needed to be done. She installed a virus checker so I would not get into the same fix again.  She was extremely patient! I was very pleased with the outcome and will use them again as well as tell others about my experience. <br /> I spoke with Spencer first who responded to my search for someone to repair my computer.  I had been the victim of a spam call.  I had called HP for computer support but the call was somehow rerouted to a hacker who proceeded to treat me with disrespect and was apparently installing malware as we spoke.  I finally hung up on him.  By this time I was mistrustful of anyone connected with computers.  Spencer put my mind at ease, helping me to believe I was at a good place.  Donna did the follow-up work the day after.   <br /> <br /> <br />"
