"I had a break in my main water service line (from the meter to the house). They attempted to perform the lowest-cost repair first (snaking a new line through the existing pipe); when that failed, they dug out a new line and installed PEX from the meter. The folks I worked with were professional and very good about keeping me in the loop about their work status. At all steps of the way, I felt like they were doing their best to do things the right way rather than the quickest; they took additional steps such as making sure the PEX mating to the house occurred inside (i.e., where it was accessible) and installed a new ball valve, which would save us considerably in the future if we had a failure again. Working with them, I had confidence that they were doing their best to do this repair in the least expensive way possible; it was only when circumstances proved prohibitive that they moved to the more expensive option (running the new line). They also made sure to set us up with a temporary repair when it was clear that there was going to be a delay getting the boring equipment to dig the new line; I really appreciated that they took the time to make sure we were taken care of."

"Used a backhoe and actual removed top of the Septic tank and pumped tank clean of water and sludge.  A previous service a week earlier just stuck a flex line into tank and pumped out the water and left the sludge.  The line from the tank to the field lines was plugged so they dug it up and replaced with new line.  They then did a field line test by probing thru the ground of the field lines and showed they were in good shape.  Septic system is now working great.  The day started out around 25degF at 8am when they arrived.  They completed all the work in 3 hours.  They also gave me several tips on how to eliminate any future Septic system problems.

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
