"We hired Bradley Construction LLC to complete our basement renovation. The renovation entailed adding a laundry room, full bathroom, framing the basement, and everything that goes along with that. We worked through the design with Terry Bradley, Kim Bradley, and a couple of their subcontractors to get everything just right. This design and quoting process was smooth and ensured everyone was aligned. Once the project kicked off we worked with Kim Bradley as Project Manager. Kim is extremely thorough, dedicated, and was our biggest ally through the project. Kim ensured that all the subcontractors showed up as needed to keep the project on schedule and that everyone completed their work per the plan and at a high level. During the project a couple mistakes were made and without fail Kim picked up the phone and immediately made things right. Kim, Terry, Brian, Glen, and all the folks at Bradley have been a pleasure to work with. It's refreshing to find a true trustworthy professional."

"I can't say enough great things about Edgar and Adam and their crew! They've done a few jobs for us over the years, including an extensive deck remodel and other complicated construction projects, and their craftsmanship is immaculate. Communication is always open and they kept us informed every step of the way. Very, very highly recommended."

"Joel’s Renovation did a phenomenal job on our bathroom remodel. I threw a couple extra jobs on them and they completed them flawlessly and in a timely fashion. Joel’s communication, dependability and knowledge of his trade were absolutely top notch. They showed up on time every day and worked so hard. My wife and I are in love with our new bathroom. They will be hired again to complete a kitchen remodel and to put some flooring in. I fully recommend Joel’s Renovation."

"Could not have gone better. Josh and his crew are no nonsense. They are the most knowledgeable group I have ever worked with, from top to bottom. They have a no BS approach to the job, are honest and up front about what they can and cannot do, devise a plan and execute it. Highest possible recommendation. Will definitely use them again."

"<p>We knew the steps were not to code in the beginning, but it was revealed that one of the risers was not anchored.  David Hammond of Upstate Remodel basically had to rebuild the steps.  The work he did is beautiful.  His detail with the molding is exceptional,  We don't believe anyone could have done a better job.  His price for this job was more than reasonable. </p> <p> I asked him what I could do to "decorate" this large, empty space, and he sent me a photo of a job he had done.  We liked it and contracted with him to do the same with ours.  He painted the stairwell, then put in a chair rail, with decorative molding below--a "shadow box" effect.  My husband was so pleased with the finished product that he said the stairwell was too pretty for the rest of the house!  For this additional work to beautify the stairwell, Upstate Remodel charged $1,465.55  (Work was done in January, completed 01/15/2015).</p> <p>With these two jobs, an ugly, unsafe stairwell morphed into a  beautiful part of our home.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Jack and Miriam Wilson</p> <br />"

"After noticing a single 7" in diameter water stain on my living room ceiling, I went through threeroofing contractors (one who came out twice) who inspected and "repaired" my leaking roof. Alas, my roof was still leaking and my ceiling was ruined. I contacted Sam Aldridge at Trademark Contractors. He immediately did a water test (which none of the other contractors bothered to do) and found the source of my trouble in about five minutes. He made repairs the same day at a very reasonable cost. He even cleaned out my gutters and took care of an ant problem on my roof! If I would have contacted Sam first, I would have saved myself an eight-hundred dollar ceiling replacement bill. Sam is extremely knowledgable of the industry, professional and a really nice guy to top it off. Thank you Trademark Contractors! <br />"

"It was all good. He was very good with his estimate, and it was very detailed about what he was going to do, and if he was not able to make it because we had a lot of rain. He called me to let me know that we would have to reschedule. He just kept in touch with me."

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in Roebuck, SC

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
