"Ken and his team did an excellent job replacing a deck for us. They were responsive to our requests and good at problem solving for the several obstacles they came across in the rebuilding process. Ken did a lot of research to find a real wood decking called Thermory which is lightweight, cool to walk on, comparable in cost to composite decking but much more beautiful and maintenance-free. They only worked morning hours due to the intense summer heat so the project too a bit longer than expected but worth the wait for quality work. (They demolished the existing deck, installed and sealed new joists and installed metal flashing to prevent future wood rot, replaced stucco columns for the fencing to attach to, repaired stucco that was falling off the fascia board of the deck, painted the stucco and fencing, and cut and installed the Thermory decking.) His team was very pleasant to work with. KW is licensed, bonded and was insured for the job. We are very pleased with the job they did. Excellent carpentry!"

They refinished and repaired treads on 30 year old floating staircase when others wanted to replace with new. Wood was cracked and full of nail and staple holes. "Before the onset of the remodel we discussed options with Samuel as we were under some time pressure. He was open to any project size that suited our needs. Ultimately he was able to provide very high quality solid wood cabinets at a very reasonable price but only in a few color options. If there was an issue with colors, Samuel gave us the option to paint any color. After some back and forth he got the units ordered and delivered in a timely fashion in a color that was a really good option. Samuel was very conscientious and took care of any details or options that seemed to arise. During remodel he actually identified a problem with a recently installed dishwasher that was leaking and waiting on a replacement unit. The Home Depot install crew failed to remove the disposal plug and was backing up into the dishwasher. Samuel found this issue and greatly improved my bargaining position with Home Depot. The whole project which was expanded to include flooring on our entry stairs and bathroom still finished on time and on budget. The flooring is really well placed and finished including the stair risers and noses which was another issue, this time with Lowes ending availability. Although an inconvenience, Samuel identified a good suitable replacement and finished the project from a secondary flooring source. Would highly recommend Samuel and really pleased with his work and the quality of the materials he recommended to us!"

"I really can't say enough good things about this company.  They are totally professional and treat your home with great care.  They work with you, in their show room as well as in your home to find out what look works best for you.  Once you decide on what you want, they will do a portion of a room and let you look at a few days.  They will tear it out or tweak it or re-do it, or whatever until you get it the way you want it.  Once you get to that point the job goes quickly and the results are amazing. We had most of our home done by this group and have only had to call them back for one minor defect.
  
It's been a year since the installation of two rooms of the new floor.  It's great!  You don't have to deal with grout, but you do have to be a little careful about scuffs.  Since you can only clean the surface with water, it takes quite a bit of effort to get scuffs out. Environmental Management will come out and professionally clean the floor every 6 to 12 months, if you want.  We have not had to have them do that yet, but it's about time.  Mainly in the high traffic areas of the kitchen and entry hall.  Tucson dirt does accumulate in the texture sweeps (in our case a sandstone look), and it can require some effort with a soft brush to remove most of it.

That's the little stuff.  What you probably want to know is what this company like to work with. Let me tell you about our family room.  The existing floor consisted of concrete pavers.  We had no idea what was underneath them, if anything, and they were big, 30lb. blocks.  We didn't want EM to remove them because there might just be dirt underneath, in which case we would have to pour a concrete slab in order to have EM put an overlay on top of it.  They warned us that if they put the concrete overlay over the pavers, we would see "ghosting" of the grout lines between the old pavers.  Burying them wouldn't necessarily get rid of them.  They gave us good advice but we finally convinced them to try it with a new product that they had never used before.  We ended up with 600 ft. of completed concrete overlay which was beautiful until the sunlight shone across it revealing virtually every joint line in the now buried pavers.  Long story short, EM ripped out every inch of their completed work; we removed the pavers finding dirt underneath.  We hired a contractor to pour a concrete slab and a month later Environmental Management once again prepped, applied and completed a beautiful concrete overlay floor.  The price:  We paid EM to put the first overlay in and that was it.  They tore it out and hauled it off. After waiting several months for us to get the pavers out and the concrete pad in, they came back and installed a brand new concrete overlay floor and charged us nothing for all 600 square feet of their trouble.

I would imagine that they would not always be able to stand behind a job where they had advised the homeowner that the completed job might have significant problems, but in this case they did - and without any arguments or threats.  Environmental Management is an excellent example of a small business that will survive this treacherous economy.  Great product, great craftsmanship and unimpeachable integrity."
