Just before doing the job we had a torrential rain storm and with the amount of water coming down my driveway we realized that a dry well was needed if this was going to be the new normal. Tony gave me a fair price on adding it to the job (I checked with a friend in construction). His team was great. I'm not worried about water off my house or coming off my neighbors property. "When I am having work done on my home, I want folks that are knowledgeable, reliable, and punctual. I had a REALLY good experience with Zavza Seal. They are an incredibly well-run organization. Before any work is done they provide you with a PDF estimate with photos and detailed descriptions of the work being done. You then receive an invoice (that agrees to that estimate) payable by checking or credit card (via Quick books). Their billing department is separate from their workers, and all workers were supervised by a manager who was also responsible for doing the estimate. From the start of the estimate, I felt taken care of. Dice their admin was incredibly responsive to all my questions, emails, and texts. Jake the manager of the team was incredibly thorough when overseeing my project, and Andersen (who was doing a lot of the project work), was incredibly professional and always took the time to explain to me what they did and what was left to do before they left my home each day. Everyone always showed up on time when they said they would. I had a relatively large project - waterproofing my exterior and then replacing a sinking floor in my porch from old water damage. They tackled outside first to ensure no more water would get into my interior. I was sealed up outside with base create (concrete used for pool settings), and sealant. They addressed every single spot I wanted to be covered, and also sealed up spots I had no idea needed sealing. They worked around my schedule, and it was great that I had a point of contact outside of the day-to-day workers (Dice their admin) that I could reach out to for scheduling, questions, invoicing, etc. I love the fact that these are two separate parts of the business. Each part does its job very well and it makes a great customer experience. My porch floor was a larger project since the beams holding the floor up were rotted and needed strengthening. The floor needed to be ripped up and with that - we went with all new tile. I was talked through every step of the way, and where project costs needed to be increased, it was very transparent and I was always consulted and presented options and reasoning. Every quote for all work done was incredibly reasonable. I never felt gouged or nickeled and dimed. It was always a fair price for the work and materials. I could not ask for better communicators. Before I settled up the final payment I was walked through all the work done, and they understood I wanted to run my water test before paying the balance to ensure all the leaks I was having were settled. This required them to wait 48 hours (for the base to create and sealant to cure) for me to do that, and I never felt pressured, or questioned as to why I wanted to do that. The basement is dry now, and I have peace of mind! This company cares about doing good work, standing by that work, and ensuring the customer is satisfied. Every question/concern I had was addressed and answered. I always try to be a good partner to the contractors I hire (being clear and transparent about what I want done, limits to my schedule/budget, honest assessment of the situation, paying on time when work is done, etc.), and I appreciated that Zavza Seal recognized that, and reciprocated it, not all contractors do. The work done on my home came with a 5-year warranty. I hope that I never have to use it, but I know this team stands by their work, and I am confident I will be taken care of if I have any issues. This is incredibly rare these days, and I will be recommending, and using them in the future! Seriously the best experience I have ever had with a contractor."

"Andrew from Forte Brick & Concrete returns calls promptly and after agreeing on the price and work we made an appointment to commence the project. He and his father Peter do very fine work and are clean and neat as well as doing their work with a smile. Forte Brick & Concrete removed previously used handyman caulking that was used to seal some cracks (which looked like an eyesore) and corrected the cracks to look natural and not noticeable as well as repairing newer cracks in brickwork in the same manner. Everything was done as expected and they found 2 additional cracks which we missed during the initial inspection which they also fixed pro bono. Forte Brick and Concrete are very professional and expert in their field. I would not hesitate to use their skills again should the need arise. My brick retaining walls, patio and flower box are back to looking spiffy. Thank you Andrew and Peter for your expertise and professionalism ."

"Initially work was very nice last year - this included the clean-up, mulch and trimming and pruning. Big job and not cheap, but reasonable. Weekly lawn service was less than good. Guys were in and out in 2 minutes until I called and finally got a response within 2-3 weeks. Once they get the big money from you (not the weekly) very hard to get any kind of customer service/response from the ones that make decisions."

"<p>Excellent crew. Showed up when they were supposed to. Hardworking. Nice guys -- they understand English, although mostly of Mexican origin probably. Above being nice, they are very competent and work well together. Also, they respected that my neighbors driveway had to be cleared of nails, and every night they swept it-- broom clean. My neighbors never complained. </p> <p>Paul Whigham, who managed my job, was highly responsive. He listened to my concerns throughout the job. He answered all of my cell phone calls within 5 minutes, even once while standing on a roof.</p> <p>Paul has a good eye for detail around a home and was able to zone right in on problems I did not even see. The job expanded, but in retrospect I am glad we did what we did. First, he told me that better to redo the roof, if I'm going to do the siding. That really did make sense. Also he noticed the chimney was slanting away from the house, so he took it down and waterproofed it and rebuilt it. Another thing is that we did not know what was below the siding, so Paul advised us to rip down all the old beaver board which was shredding. We also ended up redoing all of the windows that bordered on the siding as Paul felt that would be best to not have any leaks. </p> <p>Paul  uses very good products -- the siding and the roofing products have very long warranties. The company delivered everything on a timely basis. Also, Paul's office person is very good about sending the paperwork for the warranties. Also, I did want to mention that John Whigham Inc is a certified installer for the product, which makes the warranties good.</p> <p>If you are looking for someone, I would advise you to use Paul, (who is John Whigham's brother) but try to get into the "what ifs" up front. So, if you are doing the siding, before he pulls it down, try to get a price on the rip of the old insulation if that becomes necessary. Also, ask him to oversee the job as a whole up front so you know what you are getting into before a nail is pulled. Again, let me stress, I don't think he led me to do anything that I did not need to do, it's just that he wants to do the job right and so do you, so get a better idea of the costs up front. Also, if he sends out the sales person, that's fine to get a rough estimate, but don't sign anything until Paul sees the job. Paul will be the day to day manager, so don't sign anything until he sees it. </p> <p>Paul is very reliable, and, actually is a very good salesman. He may come off as aggressive, which could put you off, but I do, in retrospect believe that it comes from a sincerity that he will do the job right. And he did do the job right.
