"This was only a test to see if we had mold that had to be treated. The real tests remaining is finding out if we have mold and then does the treatment they use solve the problem."

"Zeromold was very helpful. I had mold in my basement bathroom. I didn't know how long it had been there or if it was also somewhere else I couldn't see. They tested for mold and cleaned it all up. Very effective. Thanks."

"Tyler Jolley with Jolley Pros is absolutely amazing. He is kind, personable, caring, thorough, and honest. I called Tyler because when I was researching contractors that knew about water damage, Tyler was the only one with over 20+ years of experience, and of the reviews I read, it seemed he really knew his stuff. He worked with us last summer and made sure everything was correct and fixed after we discovered that the house builder, 12 years previous, had made some mistakes causing slow water damage to the front of our house. Recrntly, we found water in another portion of the house, and called Tyler again immediately, without hesitation. He came out, helped us figure out what was wrong, where it from, and verified that there was not further wood or mold damage. I have referred others to him, and will only ever call him if I ever need help with repairs or restoration! Thank you Tyler for all of your help!!!"

Small jobs welcome

Mold Detection Pros has quickly become the highest rated mold inspection company in Utah because of our unique approach. We've chosen to only focus on testing for mold rather than testing & removal. By doing so, we've eliminated the inherent conflict of interest that have cost home owners thousands in unecessary repairs. This means we can provide better results and more clarity on what to do next.

"I called Disaster Doctors in last week to determine the extent of Mold Damage that we had in a bathroom. We also had them check some odor coming off some very old books and some odor in a basement bedroom. I was able to get a call back promptly and set an appointment quickly. The day of the appointment they came on time, were knowledgeable and were able to offer advice on the books and basement bedroom that I could do myself to remove those problems without using their services! They got on top of the problem quickly by going into the attic and determining the problems in ducting and the roof that had developed the mold issues. They also saw water damage that I'd missed seeing. They came back when my homeowners insurance came out and this streamlined the discussions on the matter, saving time and effort on our part. I will be hiring them to do our clean up and containment! I would highly recommend these good folks to come out and visit with you and your Disaster! Jan Clawson"

FAQs for mold & toxic material test projects in Salt Lake City, UT

Some companies offer a no‑cost phone or video consultation that screens for red flags. If the discussion points to a real issue, the pro will recommend a paid on‑site inspection. The complimentary call clarifies whether you need full testing, but it isn’t a substitute for samples, lab work, or a written report. Always confirm what the free service covers before you schedule.

A standard inspection, which includes basic air and surface samples, takes an average of two hours. If the pro needs to probe hidden spaces, such as wall cavities or ductwork, plan on up to six hours. Extra time allows the inspector to reach tight areas, collect additional samples, and document findings. Lab analysis is a separate process and often adds several business days to the overall timeframe before you receive the full report.

Mold thrives where moisture lingers and air flow is poor. Common hotspots include bathroom walls, kitchen backsplashes, window sills, HVAC vents, fireplaces, crawl spaces, and enclosed attics. Check these areas regularly—especially after leaks or high‑humidity weather—to catch growth early and avoid costly repairs.

Unchecked mold can knock 20% to 37% off a home’s market value because buyers worry about hidden damage and health risks. Even after remediation, visible staining or a history of major moisture issues can still lower offers and prolong the time on the market. Addressing mold quickly protects both your property’s structural integrity and its resale appeal.
