"Appointment was setup up quickly. Service provided two days after contact. David showed up promptly and was very courteous and professional. He discovered and resolved a significant problem with my HVAC system which was costing my hundreds of extra dollars a month on my energy bill. Also fixed the installation of my thermostat. "Worked with Greenwood Heating and Air on a furnace replacement and only have excellent things to say about the company and team. Customer service, pricing, timeliness, thoroughness, and friendliness were top notch. Contacted them initially for an inspection of our 28-year old furnace. The technician Frej was prompt, thorough, and courteous, explaining in detail the issues we might face with this still working but old units. Based on the findings we reached out for a quote on a system replacement. Lori took diligent care in listening to our concerns and hopes for a new system, recommending systems that might work for our household. She was always available for follow-up questions, providing answers that really helped us decide on getting a new system (Trane XC80 furnace with air scrubber) via Greenwood H+A. Prices were fair, on par with expectations and quotes from other businesses. On the day of the install, the team at Greenwood H+A, including Jake, Jordan, and Jason were very flexible, coordinating with the roofing company we had hired to take down our chimney and replace with a vent, to get the project moving on time. They were all very communicative, which we appreciated, and gave us regular updates on the progress. They finished what seemed like a big job within the day, despite the install occurring in our cramped crawl space. Our house is now toasty warm again with a great new furnace and all the bells and whistles. Would definitely recommend them for similar job, including for custom requirements as was our case with the roof. Thanks!"

"Ranger was the 7th company I contacted for an estimate.  The other companies (all selected from Angies List) were quoting me ridiculous amounts of $7000-8000 for units for my small 1000 sq ft house.  Even in the midst of this long, hot and dry summer, they still offered me the best price on a name brand unit (Trane). The estimator and installers were all prompt with their scheduled arrival times with courtesy calls.  They were all professionally dressed and mannered and wore shoe covers so as not to track any dirt inside.  They even registered my unit with the manufacturer for me.

"I was very pleased with the plumbing work done by Day & Nite’s service from making the appointment to the completion of the work. Technicians Jordan Sataraka and Juan Galicia called ahead, were on time for my service appointment, forthright about the cost, and performed quality workmanship. They were efficient with their time and skilled in their work. I most definitely recommend Technicians Jordan and Juan and would request them for future projects."

"Update 10/07 — I had an electrical issue with a washer/dryer (due to manufacturer error), and texted Tripped for help at 1pm. They had someone drive out immediately (my home is in a VERY remote location), and Marqus arrived by 3pm. The issue was fixed by 3:45pm. This company has EXCELLENT service, and I could not recommend them enough!"

"Oh my goodness. First, they arrived with the wrong units. The installers had no idea. Further, the installers did not know how to install or operate the units (they were, granted, brand new residential units) which resulted in unintended damage to my ceiling which had to be repaired separately. Rather than taking 1-1/2 days for total installation, it took almost six full days over the course of three months - outdoor unit and wall unit alone took two days; after waiting several weeks for the correct indoor ceiling units they took another two days to install; waited a couple of weeks for the wifi parts which took another day; then part of another day to replace the unit that didn't work properly. The BF office, "controller" and installers did not communicate with each other or if they did they miscommunicated which resulted in more of my time and unnecessary frustration. I am happy with my Mitsubishi units now but I thank Mitsubishi, not Blue Flame."

"Referred to G&S through COSTCO. After some confusion by the new sales rep over just what needed to be done and what the cost would be, we got it ironed out and accepted their bid. Their inspector visited a few days in advance of the installation to determine what the installers would need to bring. The installers arrived on schedule and removed our old unit, installed a new Lennox unit, modified the indoor air handler and replaced the thermostat. Then they thoroughly tested everything and patiently explained how everything worked, including how to work the new thermostat. Cleaned up everything before leaving. Great job. COSTCO provides a gift card for 10% of the price of the unit, excluding tax."

"Replace old broken aluminum windows and patio doors in a house built in the 1980s. Worked with Greg Serna(sales), John Lewis(Installation Lead) and Randy(Lead installer). I liked that Greg's sales presentation was informative and no pressure and listened to what I wanted. I had 5 companies coming out to do the bid and choose Washington Energy partially because how Greg represented his company. Greg has also been responsive and communicative throughout the process when I have questions/issues. From signing the contract to the actual installation date took about 3 month; it was more than the 6 to 8 weeks window I was told. Contract was signed in late April and installation didn't happen until late July. I think Summer is just a busy time for them and I understand so it's not a big deal. Overall, I am happy with the installation process. Randy and his crew were professional and overall did a good job. They sent couple more folks out on day 2 and day 3 of installation period to make sure the job gets done on time as promised to me. I did notice couple issues after installation that I have filed a ticket with Washington Energy Service. They responded and said they ordered the parts and will come out and address them at same time. It does take them awhile to get the parts; it has been a month. Hopefully, they'll be able to come out and address those issues soon. The replacement windows are vinyl and I do notice a huge difference in insulation. The only feedback I have on those windows is the manufacture could improve on those screens. They get bend out of alignment pretty easily. The installer had to fix a few of them. I also wish the mechanism to open/close the patio screen door is more user friendly or easier to use. Overall, I am still happy with these windows."

FAQs for window a/c unit service or relocation projects in Sammamish, WA

If your window air conditioner is relatively new or of high quality, repairing it can restore optimal performance and protect your investment. However, for older units or those with ongoing issues, it might be more cost-effective to replace the unit to ensure long-term efficiency and reliability. Consider the unit's age, the severity of the problem, repair costs versus replacement, and energy efficiency ratings when making your decision. If repairs cost more than half the price of a new unit, replacement is typically the better option.

Window air conditioners last eight to ten years on average. After this time, you may notice decreased efficiency and component wear. Replacing an older unit can improve energy savings and provide updated features like remote controls and better overall performance. With proper maintenance including regular filter cleaning, coil checks, and professional servicing, you can maximize your unit's lifespan.

If your portable AC isn't cooling, it might have a refrigerant leak or a circuit malfunction that's preventing it from working properly. It's best to contact a local air conditioner contractor to inspect and repair the unit. If your AC is older and repairs don't fix the issue, replacing it might be the most effective solution.

Removing a wall-mounted AC costs $55 to $75. Completing the removal yourself at the end of each summer season, being sure to do so according to proper guidelines, keeps you within this cost range. Should you require professional assistance for removal and disposal, if you can't move the unit yourself, expect an added fee of $25 to $50 to the overall cost.
